Poly butadiene glycol

A special polyester glycol type, polycapro-lactone glycol (XXVI), has become well established as a polyurethane adhesive component. And still another macroglycol type, poly butadiene glycol (Poly BD glycol) (XXVII) has gained use in polyurethane adhesive systems. [Pg.360]

Hazer [20,25] reported on the reaction of a po]y(eth-ylene g]ycol)-based azoester with methacryloyl chloride in the presence of (CH3CH2)3N. In this reaction double bonds were attached to the chain ends of the poly(ester) thus obtaining a macroinimer. Being used for the thermal polymerization of styrene, the material formed an insoluble gel [20]. Probably, both the C=C double bonds and the azo bonds reacted in the course of the thermal treatment. The macroninimer in a later work [25] was used for thermally polymerizing poly(butadiene) thus leading to poly(ethylene glycol-/ -butadiene) block copolymers. [Pg.738]

Apart from poly(ethylene glycol), other hydroxyl-terminated polymers and low-molecular weight compounds were condensed with ACPC. An interesting example is the reaction of ACPC with preformed poly(bu-tadiene) possessing terminal OH groups [26]. The reaction was carried out in chloroform solution and (CH3CH2)3N was used as a catalyst. MAIs based on butadiene thus obtained were used for the thermally induced block copolymerization with styrene [26] and dimethyl itaconate [27]. [Pg.738]

Polystyrene is the name of a homopolymer made from the single monomer styrene.
