Distribution resource planning

For consistent planning and control, our supply chain simulation software sets up Wassermann Supply Chains for every order. These can be used to visualize, simulate, control and ensure the feasibility of all processes to be planned and controlled, including resource distribution (materials, capacity, floorspace, etc.). 

Table 2 lists the distribution of HIV/AIDS in various regions of the world. The heavy infection level in sub-Saharan Africa is the result of several factors. First, the disease probably originated there. The oldest HIV sample came from the Republic of the Congo in 1959, but most researchers believe AIDS had been killing people many decades before then. Second, most of the countries in sub-Saharan Africa are underdeveloped and have lacked the resources to fight the disease or implement effective prevention plans. The ethical issues relate to difficult decisions faced by pharmacists (rather than pharmaceutical companies). Examples of the topics covered in this book include assisted suicide, conscientious refusal, pain management, equitable distribution of drug resources within institutions and managed care plans, confidentiality, and alternative and nontraditional therapies. Another ethical issue concerns weighing costs and benefits in helping consumers choose drugs. 

Validation plans should include a high-level project schedule that includes the identification of resources. As further project information is known, additional elements can be incorporated to the validation and project schedule process. Figure 8-12 depicts a typical systems development distribution showing the percentage of effort needed for each key developmental activity. 

A detailed process for the efficient and effective distribution of all types of resources, including supplemental personnel, equipment, and supplies among multiple organizations and the establishment of a security perimeter around a disaster site should also be included in the plan. Leadership responsibilities and coordination of all rescue efforts (across territories and jurisdictions) should be worked out in advance of any event.
