Piping isolation

There are different ways, both passive and active, to provide this desired protection against deflagrations and detonations. Methods inclnde DBAs, venting, pressnre containment, oxidant concentration rednction (inerting and fnel enrichment), combnstibles concentration rednction (ventilation or air dilntion), deflagration snppression, and eqnipment and piping isolation. Basically, the drill stem test involves attaching a tubing assembly to the end of the drill pipe, isolating the lest zone with rubber packers, and perforating the zone. Uses. Piping for snuffing steam injection into a heater firebox is required to help put out a fire if a tube mpture occurs. The snuffing steam isolation valve needs to be located at an accessible spot remote from the heater. Also, a remote fuel shutoff valve should be located adjacent to the snuffing steam valve so that both valves can be accessed quickly in case of fire.
