Photographic Base Paper

Starch before calendering. Most photographic papers for color prints are extrusion coated with an opaque plastic fihn (e. g. polyethylene) to improve the impermeability. [Pg.97]

Photographic base paper. A suitable base paper for the production of photographic paper is a moisture resistant, dimensionally stable, chemically neutral chemical pulp paper that is free from traces of iron or copper. Today, papers coated with a thin polyethylene foil on both sides have replaced barite paper. This paper is used for the uptake of light-sensitive emulsions. [Pg.463]

Main fields of application film, foams, paper coatings, textile coatings, latex paints, lacquers, sheet goods, wire, cable, tubing, sealants, printed circuit boards, photographic base film, synthetic leather, wall coverings, flooring, tarpaulins ... [Pg.35]

In the commercial printing field, printed sheets are required to have an appearance similar to that of printed sheets obtained by using general printing paper, rather than paper that has a surface that completely blocks penetration of ink solvent into the base paper, e.g., a photograph. [Pg.3]

If the line art and text originals are sized correcdy ia relation to one another, these can be assembled together onto a stiff paper or acetate base to form a paste-up or mechanical and photographed as a unit. Liae art or text that is not sized correctly is enlarged or reduced on the camera and assembly is done at a later stage. Continuous-tone originals are treated separately and assembled later. [Pg.36]

Low viscosity cellulose acetate is used in lacquers and protective coatings for paper, metal, glass, and other substrates and as an adhesive for cellulose photographic film because of its quick bonding rate and excellent bond peel strength (135) (see Coatings). Heat-sensitive adhesives for textiles have also been prepared from cellulose acetate (136). Extmded cellulose acetate film makes an excellent base for transparent pressure-sensitive tape (137) (see Adhesives). [Pg.259]

Many photographic products are based on the photolysis of silver halides. These materials are especially suitable for use where short exposure times are needed. Thus, high speed photographic films are manufactured for use in cameras. Also, coatings of silver halide on paper are utilized in the on-line production of colour reflection prints where rapid passage through an exposure device is necessary. [Pg.362]

These remarks can be found in the few pages of introduction to the album of photographs of the participants in the Solvay Conferences in Physics, published in 1961, on occasion of the celebration of 50 years after the First Solvay Conference. These pages are based on the unpublished paper Jean Pelseneer, Historique des Instituts Intemationaux de Physique et de Chimie Solvay, depuis leur fondation jusqu it la deuxilme guerre modiale, Bruxelles, 1946. [Pg.32]
