1- PGF

Increased sensitivity of receptors for androgens, Insulin, GH, IGF-1, PGE-1, PGF-2, Clenbuterol, Ephedrine, Creatine, and others. [Pg.105]

Thyroid hormones were commonly cycled with Insulin, AAS, GH, IGF-1, PGF-2, Ephedrine, Clenbuterol, and other drugs by athletes. [Pg.109]

The Corey process is also useful for the synthesis of PGs of the 1 and 3 series. Catalytic hydrogenation of (34) (see Fig. 5) with 5% Pd/C at — 15-20°C results in selective reduction of the 5,6-double bond. Subsequent transformations analogous to those in Figure 5 lead to PGE (9) and PGF (10). The key step for synthesis of the PG series is the Wittig reaction of (29) with the appropriate unsaturated CO-chain yUde (170). [Pg.159]

Recently, a novel class of prostaglandin derivatives, PG-1,15-lactones (Fig. 1) of both E [16] and F [17] series, has been reported to occur in the opisthobranch mollusc Tethys fimbria, along with smaller amounts of some of the corresponding PGs. Some lactones were present mainly in the mucous secretion and dorsal appendages known as cerata, while others were more abundant in the mantle. Fatty acid esters of PGF-1,15-lactones (C9 and Cu) were found only in T. fimbria eggmasses and reproductive glands (ovotestis). The structural variety of the lactones and the data on their distribution in the body... [Pg.85]

Nomura and Ogata provided the first evidence that tunicates can produce PGs [17]. Using a rat stomach fundus bioassay, Halocynthia roretzi tissues were shown to possess low levels of PGs. The testes showed higher levels (9 ngg-1 wet tissue) than ovary and muscle tissue. The sea-squirt Styela clava did not show PGs by this method. No structures were determined in this work. Reexamination of the ability of H, roretzi to produce PGs was carried out by Ogata and coworkers [19]. Incubation of selected tissues with 14C-labeled eicosa-8,11,14-trienoic acid and subsequent isolation of PGE and PGF fractions after addition of carrier showed the branchial tissue to have the highest conversion levels. Quantitation was done by LSC. Using a TLC radioscanner, the authors determined that fractions with metabolites similar to PGE and PGF... [Pg.176]

Abortifacient Intra-amniotic administration of PGF produced abortion with less severe adverse effects. It is used to induce second trimester abortion usually administered as a single 40 mg in-traamniotic injection. [Pg.226]

Research has shown a rapid and quite strong direct anabolic action from PG s in muscle cells. If PG s such as PGF-2 and PGE-2 are introduced into muscle cells, protein synthesis occurs at an incredible rate. If insulin is introduced into muscle cells with PGF-2 or PGE-2 there is a profound synergistic response. This places certain PG s among the most potent of anabolic activators. Perhaps far more so than anabolic steroids. This also suggests that the powerful anabolic actions of IGF-1, insulin, and amino acids are all mediated in one way or another by PG s. [Pg.139]

Prostaglandins have shown up in a synthesized form on the black market since a few years ago. I have personally seen amazing transformations in those who had bravely injected PGF-2 site specifically 3-5 times per day. The injections were administered directly into the muscle group trained that day (usually with a fast-acting insulin such as Humulin R or Humalog). Due to extreme soreness, that body part could not be trained for a few days following injections. Since PGF-2 is site-specific, abdominal enlargement does not seem to occur as with IGF-1. [Pg.140]
