Performance triggers

There are a number of performance triggers within the master trust transactions that serve to protect the senior noteholders against certain events. These events can be divided into two categories asset performance related and nonasset related. [Pg.379]

An asset performance trigger event would occur if a principal deficiency is recorded in the Class A Principal Deficiency Ledger. This means that the total balance of realised losses that have not been covered by either the reserve fund or with excess spread exceed the aggregate outstanding amount of the subordinate notes. If this occurs, all receipts on the mortgages will be allocated to the issuers and the seller on a pro rata basis. The notes will start to redeem early with all the Class A notes being redeemed on a pro rata basis. When all the Class A notes have been redeemed in full, the Class B notes would be redeemed, and so on for all other classes of notes until all the notes are redeemed or the trust no longer has any assets. [Pg.379]

In order to be successful as part of a medical device a polymer has to resist both biological rejection by the patient s body and degradation. The human body is an enviromnent which is simultaneously hostile and sensitive, so that materials for application in medicine must be carefully selected. The essential requirement is that these materials are biocompafible with the particular part of the body in which they are placed. The extent to which polymers fulfil this requirement of biocompafibility depends partly on the properties of the polymer and partly on the location in which they are expected to perform. For example the requirements for blood biocompafibility are stringent since blood coagulation may be triggered by a variety of materials. By contrast, the requirements for materials to be used in replacement joints in orthopaedic surgery are less severe and materials as diverse as poly (methyl methacrylate) and stainless steel can be used with minimal adverse reaction from the body. [Pg.146]

Given the unexpected occurrence of anaphylaxis, the rapidity with which symptoms evolve after exposure to the trigger, and the observation that delay in epinephrine injection is associated with fatality [15, 16], randomized controlled trials of epinephrine in anaphylaxis will not be easy to conduct however, it is time to consider the possibility of performing such trials.
