Peptone-agar-glucose-yeast extract

Streptomyces alanosinicus n. sp. ATCC 15710 Peptone-agar-glucose-yeast extract medium Glucose... [Pg.123]

Oat meal agar slants seeded with Streptomyces alanosinicus n. sp. ATCC 15710 were incubated at 20°C for 7 to 10 days and then used to inoculate 100 ml of a peptone-agar-glucose-yeast extract medium contained in 500 ml Erlenmeyer flask. The composition of this termination medium is ... [Pg.123]

Cladosporium herbarum AHU 9262, which is highly susceptible to benomyl (11) and MBC (12), was used as the test fungus for detecting antidotes, and was cultured on PYG agar medium (3% glucose, 1% peptone, 0.1% yeast extract and 1.5 % agar) for 5-7 days at 25°C unless otherwise mentioned. Under these conditions, spores were produced in abundance. Details of the medium used for TLC bioassays are given in ref. [23]. [Pg.462]

YEPGA = Yeast extract, peptone and glucose agar. ... [Pg.23]

Rogosa-type medium (60) made as follows 2% Tryptone (Difco), 0.5% yeast extract (Difco), 0.5% peptone (Difco), 0.5% glucose, 0.005% Tween 80 (Nutritional Biochemicals Corp.), and 2% agar (Difco) in a filtered or centrifuged fourfold dilution (with water) of tomato juice (containing no preservatives). The medium is adjusted to pH 5.5 with HC1 before adding agar. [Pg.167]

Prepare 1% yeast extract (Saccharomyces cerevisae), 1% peptone, 2% glucose and 1% agar (by weight). [Pg.1034]

All chemicals were of analytical grade and obtained from Sigma (St. Louis, MO) with the exception of bacto agar, yeast extract and peptone which were obtained from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany), and D-glucose, which was obtained from VWR. Solka-floc, a delignified pine pulp serving as the cellulosic substrate, was obtained from Fiber Sales Development (Urbana, OH). For the preparation of solutions and media, distilled water was used. [Pg.117]

Two different strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae were used CBS 8066 (Centralbureau voor Schimmelcultures, Delft, The Netherlands) and TMB 3000 (Division of Applied Microbiology, Lund University, Sweden). TMB 3000 is a strain originally isolated from spent sulfite liquor, and therefore it has a high tolerance to inhibitors. The strains were maintained on agar plates (20 g/L of agar, 20 g/L of soya peptone, 20 g/L of glucose, and 10 g/L of yeast extract). Before the fermentations, inoculum cultures were grown in 250-mL conical E-flasks. The flasks were placed in a shaker bath (30°C, 140 rpm) for 24 h. [Pg.603]

The yeast strains used were D. hansenii CCMI941, B stipitis CBS 5773, and K. marxianus CBS 6556, obtained from the National Collection of Yeasts Cultures (UK), as NCYC 2597. The strains were maintained on YM agar slants containing 20 g 1 glucose, 3 g 1 yeast extract, 3 g l malt extract, 5 g 1 peptone, and 20 g F agar. [Pg.628]

Medium A formulation composed of various ingredients that will support the growth of different microorganisms. Such ingredients include glucose, peptone, yeast extract, liver extract, and others. A medium can be prepared as a liquid or solid, the latter with the addition of agar. [Pg.326]

Yeast extract-peptone-dextrose (YPD) medium 1%yeast extract, 2% polypeptone, 2% glucose, and 2% agar (if necessary). [Pg.101]

Assay Medium. The medium used for the seed layer in the assay is composed of peptone 6.0 g., pancreatic digest of casein 4.0 g., yeast extract 3.0 g., beef extract 1.5 g., glucose 1.0 g., agar 15.0 g., and distilled water 1 liter. The base layer medium is composed of peptone 6.0 g., yeast extract 3.0 g., beef extract 1.5 g., agar 15.0 g., and distilled water 1 liter. Both media are adjusted to pH 6.6. [Pg.58]
