Peelable Film

Peelable film in case-ready ground beef package add color and shelf life. As an example Cryovac Div. of W. R. GRACE CO uses a peelable barrier lid and foam tray system. It is two packages in one there is an oxygen barrier structure, which is peeled off, leaving an oxygen-permeable film over the meat. [Pg.239]

The finished outer surfaces of the assemblies may be coated with a peelable coating compound which can be easily sprayed and air dried. The coat forms a translucent peelable film, suitable for protecting the finished surfaces during assembly, transportation and installation from scratches, oil marks, grease and dirt etc. The film can be neatly stripped after the equipment is finally installed. Approximate spraying data are ... [Pg.409]

The incompatibility between polybutene and polyethylene is used to make peelable film seals. [Pg.260]

Polyisobutylene has been added to HDPE and LDPE to improve toughness, tear resistance and environmental stress rupture resistance. Commercial systems include Allied Chemical s ET polymers and BASF s Lupolen . Polypropylene/poly(butene-l) blends have been shown to exhibit miscibility and utility in films has been noted with some commercial activity [43, 44].Increased crystallization rate of poly( 1 -butene) with PP addition offers a blend approach as a nucleation additive [45]. Poly(l-butene)/LDPE blends have been employed as peelable films in packaging applications [46]. [Pg.389]

For skin packaging, ionomer films provide outstanding protection, especially for sharp objects. Films can be drawn down tightly around regular shapes without penetration. Characteristics of heat seals can be adjusted so that convenient peelable seals are obtained (31—35). [Pg.408]

PB film is usually made by the blown film process, but also can be cast oil drill lolls. Film applications include food and meat packaging, compression wraps, and hot-fill containers. The material can be formulated to provide a wide range of seal strengths for peelable or easy-opening packaging. [Pg.1335]

Pkotocurable materials for photographic films contain pentaerythritol and dialkyiamino and/or nitrile compounds, which have good adhesion and peelability of the layers, and produce clear transfer images (97,98). [Pg.466]

Polybutylene is another new member of the polyolefin group, being similar to polyethylene but exhibiting better tensile strength. It is frequently used blended with polyethylene or polypropylene to modify the properties of films, i.e. to give a controllable peelable seal, and a good future as copolymers is predicted. [Pg.192]

Seals may be permanent, semi-permanent, or peelable. Peelable systems usually consist of ethylene copolymers, possibly modified with polyethylene, or other films, lacquers or dispersions. Some are resealable, hence are not strictly tamper-resistant. Cold seals, typically based on a rubber latex, are usually non-resealable. These may employ the cold seal only in the area of the seal, hence avoiding any or limited product contact. Pattern systems are widely used for surgical materials and instruments. [Pg.332]

The thermoplastic films used in flexible applications are suited only for sealing to themselves or to chemically related materials. The sealing of like materials produces fused bonds that may not be peelable and thus applicable for single use medical devices. To overcome the limitations of sealing... [Pg.591]

Due to its similar structure, PB-1 is very compatible with PR It can be used in blends to improve certain characteristics of PR On the other hand, PB-1 is not compatible with PE. PB-1 copolymers are blended in PE film grades for use in peelable packaging. [Pg.40]

BioPeel is a clear, peelable PLA lidding or flow-wrap film, suitable for use with chilled and frozen products such as fruif vegetables, salads, and sandwiches. BioPeel has a broad sealing window and clarity, is available with antifog, and can be perforated. BioPeel can be tailored to seal and peel to any type of container. [Pg.20]

Solution containers were obtained in which panel leaks (for the purposes of this paper, a panel leak is defined as a hole through the plastic film of a flexible container) had been detected at various points of the life of the product, such as during distribution or before patient use. The solution container was a two-chamber bag, with a peelable section separating the two chambers. In the finished product configuration, the two chambers are folded together, and packaged with the fold on the bottom of the carton. [Pg.2002]
