Overview of the Research Proposal

The primary purpose of reports and articles is to inform the primary purpose of proposals is to persuade. Your goal in proposal writing is not just to inform your audience about a solution to a problem, but to convince your audience to give you funds so that you can solve a problem. 

A document written to solicit financial support for an ongoing or new research project. 

Research proposals, sometimes referred to by the more generic term grant proposals, are written to solicit a research grant. 

Before we begin, we remind you that there are many different ways to write a successful proposal—far too many to include in this textbook. Our goal is not to illustrate all the various approaches, but rather to focus on a few basic writing skills that are common to many successful proposals. These basics will get you

The aim of this chapter is to provide the reader with a comprehensive, although not necessarily exhaustive, overview of the methods proposed up to now for the preparation of predetermined physical forms of MIPs. The subject will be organised according to the type of form as well as according to the employed preparation strategy. In the course of the last years, other less extensive reviews on this research area have been published, and the interested reader is referred to them as well [1-5]. 

Recently, numerous review articles summarizing research performed in the area of the microfluidic chip have been published [5,6]. Reviews on specific topics have also appeared (see Table 1.1). Whereas these reviews summarize exciting research and propose new directions, this book is focused on an overview of the available technology, its limitations, and its breakthroughs over the years. 

In Chapter 3, Liben follows on Roberts survey of internal spatial representations with an overview of the interpretation and use of external spatial representations. Liben reviews research on children s developing understanding of maps, and proposes three principles of cartographic map understanding which determine the interpretation and use of maps (purpose, duality, and spatialization). Liben s focus on spatial representations which are external and are culturally provided relates to an important question discussed in several chapters in this volume do people spontaneously create spatial representations in the course of reasoning, or do they only use space when it is available as a ready-made tool ... 

Since the discovery of HALS, a lot of research was done on their mechanism of action and many different mechanisms were proposed. At the moment, there is still no consensus, which might be related to the fact that the mechanism of action of HALS, as the UV degradation of polymers, is circumstances dependant. So are results of the mechanism of action in different polymers, UV degraded with different light sources and even thermo-oxidative compared. In the following an overview of the mechanistically work that was done on HALS as stabilizer as well as application data is given. 

Abstract In an effort to characterize fuel sprays using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes, a number of spray breakup models have been developed. The primary atomization of liquid jets and sheets is modeled considering growing wave instabilities on the liquid/gaseous interface or a combination of turbulence perturbations and instability theories. The most popular approaches for the secondary atomization are the Taylor Analogy Breakup (TAB) model, the Enhanced-TAB (E-TAB) model, and the WAVE model. Variations and improvements of these models have also been proposed by other researchers. In this chapter, an overview of the most representative models used nowadays is provided. 

A methodological approach to develop a healthcare logistics KPI framework is presented. The framework provides the imphcation of a complex multi-criteria decision-making problem mainly related to qualitative judgments, which are necessary to evaluate different logistics components and their KPIs. The proposed framework illustrates the behavioral healthcare logistics, and dependency and independency of the components and KPIs. This is a good input for decision makers in healthcare industry and academic researchers. With the framework, decision makers can see the overview of the components performance priorities from suppliers to point of care. In addition to the components priorities, the decision makers are also able to get the overview of performances under each component. 

Abstract. The paper gives an overview of the proposals from Russian Research Centre Kurchatov Institute (RRC KI) for the development of nuclear energy systems that would couple nuclear power plants with small and medium sized reactors to service enterprises. The problems and R D needs associated with such systems are analyzed. A conclusion is made that institutional changes in the organization of nuclear power production are needed to make such systems viable.
