Organisation structure models

Responsibrhty models can be used to represent existing organisational structures where the allocation of resources and personnel to responsibilities is something which has already occurred. We also beUeve that responsibrhty models can be used dynamically to represent evolving situations. For example, a new piece of equipment is supphed to an agent. In this case risk clauses are useful to determine not only the effect of that piece of equipment being used too late, or not used at aU, or used incorrectly etc in the furtherance of a responsibility but also whether the relationship of allocation itself occurs too late or early etc. 

The main model elaborated for the EIS, shown in Fig. 14, contributed to avoid the opening of a cave in the SCI area Talpina (Site of Community Importance, EU). The mentioned limits of the old concept of succession, due to non-equilibrium thermodynamics (Cfr. 5.1), eliminate the efficiency of environmental compensation, today based on restoration actions. This method of compensation does not consider the concept of "transformation deficit" sensu fngegnoli, 2002), which measure the lack of dissipation (of energy and related information) of a landscape system In Fig. 14, this deficit concern the area between the lines of natural behaviour and the restored one, after the break of alteration Moreover, the fimction of BTC allows to underline the thresholds indicating the main self-organisation structure of the ecocoenotope, from bush to forest. 

It is now well-established that for atomic fluids, far from the critical point, the atomic organisation is dictated by the repulsive forces while the longer range attractive forces serve to maintain the high density [34]. The investigation of systems of hard spheres can therefore be used as simple models for atomic systems they also serve as a basis for a thermodynamic perturbation analysis to introduce the attractive forces in a van der Waals-like approach [35]. In consequence it is to be expected that the anisotropic repulsive forces would be responsible for the structure of liquid crystal phases and numerous simulation studies of hard objects have been undertaken to explore this possibility [36].

Attempts have recently been made to link the RNA world with the lipid world. Two groups involved in RNA and ribozyme research joined up with an expert on membrane biophysics (Szostak et al., 2001). They developed a model for the formation of the first protocells which takes into account both the most recent experimental results on replication systems and the self-organisation processes of amphiphilic substances to give supramolecular structures. 

As already mentioned, the HGT principle has been known for many years however, until about 15 years ago, it was regarded as only a weak force in the evolutionary events involved in the development of primeval cells, whose organisation must have been very simple. They probably had a loose structure which could easily be modified by HGT processes. An important characteristic of Woese s model is the nature of the evolutionary process Woese assumes that cell design could be achieved only by the overall performance of HGT. With the developed concepts, a number of field experiments were conducted in the chemical process industry. A first experiment was carried out in a small company in The Netherlands. From this first trial, it was evident that the concepts of precursors, the model of the organisational control process and the structure of these concepts had to be adapted to obtain better and more reliable results. The improvements led to the development of a structured protocol of seven clearly defined stages. By applying this 7-stage protocol to the data of the small company, safety risks could pro-actively be identified and the accidents which the company had already experienced, could be explained. 

The therapy model uses elements of both structural and strategic family therapy. Structural family therapy derives its name from the perceived importance of family composition, particularly as a hierarchy, and how this hierarchical system is organised. For example, a family with a weak and ineffectual father would be subject to an imbalance in family structure. The therapist s main objective is to identify the imbalance and to intervene by emphasising the importance of the father and his role in the family, that is, elevating his importance. Structural family therapy is widely associated with Salvador Minuchin, who used it extensively in the treatment of anorectic families . Only a cursory summary is presented here. Interested readers will find these techniques covered more fully in Minuchin and Fishman (1981).
