Responsibrhty models can be used to represent existing organisational structures where the allocation of resources and personnel to responsibilities is something which has already occurred. We also beUeve that responsibrhty models can be used dynamically to represent evolving situations. For example, a new piece of equipment is supphed to an agent. In this case risk clauses are useful to determine not only the effect of that piece of equipment being used too late, or not used at aU, or used incorrectly etc in the furtherance of a responsibility but also whether the relationship of allocation itself occurs too late or early etc. [Pg.1066]

With the developed concepts, a number of field experiments were conducted in the chemical process industry. A first experiment was carried out in a small company in The Netherlands. From this first trial, it was evident that the concepts of precursors, the model of the organisational control process and the structure of these concepts had to be adapted to obtain better and more reliable results. The improvements led to the development of a structured protocol of seven clearly defined stages. The therapy model uses elements of both structural and strategic family therapy. Structural family therapy derives its name from the perceived importance of family composition, particularly as a hierarchy, and how this hierarchical system is organised. For example, a family with a weak and ineffectual father would be subject to an imbalance in family structure. The therapist s main objective is to identify the imbalance and to intervene by emphasising the importance of the father and his role in the family, that is, elevating his importance. Structural family therapy is widely associated with Salvador Minuchin, who used it extensively in the treatment of anorectic families . Only a cursory summary is presented here.
