OLETs

Preservatives generally fall into four categories. There are ultravi-olet/UV light absorbers (to prevent light from creating harmful and bad-tasting toxins), color stabilizers, antioxidants, and antimicrobials. [Pg.1]

But the circulation of money is an external movement and the sovereign, although non olet, keeps mixed company. The coin, which comes into contact with all sorts of hands, bags, purses, pouches, tills, chests and boxes, wears away, leaves a particle of gold here and another there, thus losing increasingly more of its intrinsic content as a result of abrasion sustained in the course of its worldly career. While in use it is getting used up.43... [Pg.90]

Free radicals can be formed by thermolytic cleavage, photolysis (nltravi-olet light photolysis of hydrogen peroxide to form hydroxyl radicals), radiolysis (ionizing radiation of water to form hydroxyl radicals), or by homolytic cleavage with the participation of another molecule (i.e., Fenton reaction). For fabrication of the OLETs, controllability of the grid-type A1 gate electrode is important, as with the fabrication of OSITs. In this case, the estimated gate gap, W, was checked using optical microscopy, and W was varied... [Pg.313]

Future developments of OLETs operating with higher power and speed are expected from the optimization of the device structure, such as the thickness of the organic layers and the dimensions of the gate electrode. In particular, the modulation depth and operational frequency of the OLETs are strongly dependent on the edge features of the gate electrode. [Pg.314]

Several techniques have been developed for CE detection, such as indirect and direct ultravi-olet/visible (UVA is) optical methods. Laser-induced fluorescence OLIF) is widely used. Direct photometric detection based on UVA is light absorbance accounts for over half of all CE application. Absorbance detection operates at wavelength ranging from 190 to 800 nm. It covers both ultraviolet and visible regions. The usually used wavelengths for detection are 190 and 200 nm for... [Pg.277]

Abstract This chapter introduces an application of multivariate curve resolution (MCR) technique based on a factor analysis. Not only series of IR spectra but also two-dimensional data (series of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (MS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD)) can deal with same manner (further more two-dimensional data generated by hyphenated techniques such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and liquid chromatography/ultravi-olet (LC/UV) analysis, which combine two functions based on different principles, namely, chromatography, which has a separating function, and spectrometry, which provides information related to molecular structure). By using MCR techniques appropriately, the mixture data is resolved into some essential elements (chemical components, transient states and phases). The results can reveal a true chemical characteristic in your study. [Pg.99]

One of the first reports of thiophene-based OLETs described red light emission from the film of oligomer 136, which can be controlled by the applied gate voltage [188]. The low electron mobility, a common drawback of polythiophenes, shifts the hole-electron recombination area close to the cathode, where the excitons can be quenched by the metal. As a result, the observed EL efficiency was rather low. [Pg.742]

Yamashita and co-workers introduced electron-deficient benzothiadiazole and related units into thiophene oligomers 137a-c, which allowed for ambipolar transport and thus yielded more efficient OLETs [189]. The devices with oligothiophene 137a showed intense red emission at 661 mn, a high electron mobility of 0.04-0.19 cm V s and an on/off ratio of 10 -10 . WeU-balanced ambipolar transport was also demonstrated for layered-structure OLETs using an a,(o-dihexyl-quaterthiophene oligomer (as p-type semiconductor) and A,A -ditridecylperylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic diimide [190] (see also Chapter 16). [Pg.742]
