Dyeing nylons

In a rotary kiln, the burner can produce both thermal and fuel NO, if the fuel contains nitrogen. Many soHd waste streams also contain nitrogen, typically as much as 20 wt %, which contributes to the fuel NO pathway. Key sources of soHd waste fuel nitrogen include plastics, nylons, dyes, and other process wastes. Nylon, for example, is 33 wt % nitrogen. [Pg.52]

Clothing - man-made fibres such as rayon and nylon, dyes, waterproofing and other surface finishing chemicals. [Pg.14]

Antimicrobial agents may adversely affect the light fastness of nylon dyeings or cause yellowing of the fibre. The six antimicrobial treatments listed in Table 10.51 have been... [Pg.280]

This versatile water-soluble reactant has been evaluated in wool and nylon dyeing. The nucleophilic aminoalkyl derivatives of orthodox aminochlorotriazine dyes behave like traditional acid dyes on wool owing to their zwitterionic character under neutral-dyeing conditions (Scheme 7.65). Improved wet fastness can be achieved using the reactant XLC... [Pg.433]

For best fastness to light and washing, nylon 66 is dyed with acid dyes, and nylon dye variants thus are based on manipulation of the level of acid dye uptake. By adding a monobasic acid such as acetic acid to the reaction mix near the end of the polymerization process, the amino end groups are converted to amide groups which have no affinity for acid dyes under normal dyeing conditions. [Pg.496]

A highly efficient dyeing assistant specific for filament nylon dyeing with acid colors. [Pg.142]

This nylon dye resist concentrate is provided as a water soluble powder. This Nylon resist product will assist in the dyeing of Nylon to level and even dyeing and retard the drying rate. [Pg.275]

This material is an anionic fixing agent designed for the fixation of acid colors in Nylon dyeing operations. [Pg.277]

Molecular structures of the above mentioned dyes are presented in Figure 5. The dyes were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Germany) and used witliout further purification. These dyes were selected for the studies because they are extensively used in the textile industry. C.I. Acid Orange 7 is applied for fibers such as silk, wool and nylon using neutral to acid dye baths. Direct Blue 71 is used for cotton, paper, leather, wool, silk and nylon dyeing. Reactive dyes, e.g. RB5, are by far the best choice for dyeing of cotton and other cellulose fibers. [Pg.47]
