Nutritional agent

In many industrial areas, antioxidants play a significant role in the context of stability improvement of easily oxidizable compounds. There is a considerable interest in antioxidants as bioactive components of food and as nutritional agents with a role in the maintenance of health and in disease prevention. 

The normal loss of muscle strength in the process of aging is caused by a combination of factors, both genetically and life style components. The life style factors are physical inactivity and low intake of nutritional agents of which protein is the most important.

Infant formulas could be considered as more than jnst food (i.e., as a delivery system for non-nutritional agents). 

Most flavonoids are diphenylpropanoids that occur ubiquitously in plant foods that are important constituents of human diet. The major flavonoids are apigenin, quercetin, tangeretin, nobiletin, kaempferol, myricetin, genistein, daidzein and luteolin (Figure 2). Although flavonoids are generally considered to be non-nutritive agents, interest in flavonoids has arisen because of their potential role in the prevention of human cancer (50).

Hydrol R melasse de glucose H. is the noncrystallizing mother liquor, remaining after the final low-grade massecuite crystallization of - dextrose from starch total - hydrolysis by acids. The dark, brown viscous syrups have a bitter taste, which prevents utilization in human nutrition. They are preferentially used as nutritive agents in fermentations and as core binders in the - foundry industry.
