CNcrit, included in the calculation of critical nitrogen leaching, Ni(crit), values, the input of this endpoint parameter into the uncertainty of CL(N) is expressed in a lesser degree. Furthermore, the runoff processes are practically not significant for ecosystems of Luvic Phaeozems, Chernozems and Kashtanozems due to low P PE ratio. During the calculations of CL(N) for ecosystems of North East Asia, the values of critical immobilization and denitrification from N depositions as the endpoints both in relative and absolute meanings played a subordinate role that obviously reflects their minor contribution into uncertainty and sensitivity analysis of the computed output values of ecosystem sensitivity to acidic deposition.

As soy protein denatures, it forms insoluble aggregates. Two methods, NSI and PDI, are broadly used to evaluate protein solubility/dispersibility in soy protein products. The PDI (AOCS Official Method Ba-10-65, 1993) rapid stir method uses a blender to disperse the sample, and the NSI (AOCS Official Method Ba 11-65, 1993) slow stir method uses a laboratory stirrer. In both methods, the protein or nitrogen leached into the liquid phase is compared with the total protein or nitrogen in the sample as determined by Kjeldahl analysis. The NSI method usually gives lower values and is related to PDI by the formula (Central Soya Company, 1988) ...

Forestlands lose significant quantities of soil, water, and soil nutrients wherever trees are cut and harvested. For instance, the surface water runoff from a forested watershed after a storm averaged 2.7% of the precipitation, but after forest cutting and/or farming water runoff rose to 4.5 percent. In addition, soil nitrogen leached after forest removal was 6 to 9 times greater than in forests with normal cover.
