Nitrocompounds alkylation

Antioxidants that break chains by reactions with alkyl radicals. These are compounds, such as quinones, nitrones, iminoquinones, methylenequinones, stable nitroxyl radicals, and nitrocompounds that readily accept alkyl radicals. Such antioxidants are efficient at very low concentrations of dioxygen and in solid polymers. [Pg.490]

The alkylation of ammonia, Gabriel synthesis, reduction of nitriles, reduction of amides, reduction of nitrocompounds, and reductive amination of aldehydes and ketones are methods commonly used for preparing amines. [Pg.174]

Gas chromatography has been applied to the determination of a wide range of organic compounds in trade effluents including the following types of compounds which are reviewed in Table 15.15 aromatic hydrocarbons, carboxylic acids aldehydes, non ionic surfactants (alkyl ethoxylated type) phenols monosaccharides chlorinated aliphatics and haloforms polychlorobiphenyls chlorlignosulphonates aliphatic and aromatic amines benzidine chloroanilines chloronitroanilines nitrocompounds nitrosamines dimethylformamide diethanolamine nitriloacetic acid pyridine pyridazinones substituted pyrrolidones alkyl hydantoins alkyl sulphides dialkyl suphides dithiocaibamate insecticides triazine herbicides and miscellaneous organic compounds. [Pg.337]

The photolysis of aromatic nitrocompounds is in marked contrast to that of alkyl derivatives. The major products from the photolysis of nitrobenzene are nitrosobenzene and p-hydroxynitrobenzene, presumably formed from O-atom extrusion, viz. [Pg.664]

There are two good ways to do this. Dehydration of alkyl nitrocompounds 68, either with PhNCO or with Ph3P and DEAD (Et02C-N=N-C02Et) in a Mitsunobu elimination gives nitrile oxides 69, as does the 1,3-elimination of HC1 from chloro-oximes 70. In the next section we shall show only the nitrile oxide but you should recall that it is generated in the reaction mixture by one of these reactions. [Pg.842]

Open-ring nitroso- [224] 144 and nitrocompounds [126] 145 were reported as the ultimate products of ROO reaction with HAS derived nitroxides. A-Oxide 146 was mentioned among the ultimate products of HAS as well [225]. Some alkyl radical trapping and 102 quenching activities should be preserved in 146. [Pg.145]

The reaction of solid alkali metal nitrites with haloalkanes in acetonitrile in the presence of 18-crown-6 as the PT catalyst gives nitrocompounds as the major products but substantial quantities of alkyl nitrites are also formed (eq. 136). [Pg.1855]

One of the possible causes of the development of an oxidative course in the nitration lies in the thermal decomposition of nitrocompounds and alkyl nitrites [4]. RONO decomposes between 300 °C and 500 °C. For instance, ethylnitrite produces a free... [Pg.126]

Weiss [1963] has summarized the very extensive work of himself and his collaborators (Weiss and Hofmann [1951], Weiss et al. [1956, 1956a], Weiss [1958], Weiss et al. [1959]) on alkylammonium-vermiculite complexes. They find that the complexes are formed in simple stoichiometric proportions. Some estimate of the charge density of the silicate layers can be made from X-ray diffraction measurements of the interlayer distance of the pure n-alkyl-ammonium derivatives. Comparison is made with a variety of other minerals (silicates vanadates, phosphates, uranyl salts), which form similar organic complexes. Measurements have been made of the extra swelling produced when alkylammonium-silicates are treated with various liquids, viz., water and aqueous electrolyte solutions, alcohols, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, nitrocompounds, phenols, nitrogen bases, esters, ethers, ketones, halogen compounds, and hydrocarbons. [Pg.174]
