Multiplex assemblies

The sampling port is controlled by the operation software and can be set to continuously monitor a single one of the three inlets, or multiplexed between two (or all three although it is unlikely that a mission scenario will incorporate all three) of the modes (e.g., BWA in air and CWA in air). Also contained in the SIM is the pyrolyzer assembly, including the tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) solution delivery subsystem. [Pg.69]

There are approximately 2700 compounds per primary screening mixture, and the readout is in essence multiplexed the ligands are individually ionized and identified in the mass spectrometer according to their exact mass positions. The readout, however, does not unambiguously identify compounds, as multiple compounds in a single mixture may have the same mass, i.e., a particular peak may correspond to as many as 31 compounds with closely related masses. The protein excess over individual compounds coupled with the rarity of potent ligands within a randomly assembled library minimizes competition between ligands for... [Pg.173]

A multiplexed immrmoassay has likewise been introduced based upon the ArrayPlate format in which antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates are assembled by hybridization to complementary capture probes. Beckman Coulter introduced the A MicroArray System in March 2004. The A squared or A (array of arrays) approach involves the printing of a capture oligonucleotide "zip code" in the bottom of a rounded square 96-well... [Pg.43]

We further addressed the use of the nucleic acids as biopolymers for the formation of supramolecular structures that enable the electronic or electrochemical detection of DNA. Specifically, we discussed the use of aptamer/low-molecular-weight molecules or aptamer/protein supramolecular complexes for the electrical analysis of the guest substrates in these complexes. Also, nucleic acid-NPs hybrid systems hold a great promise as sensing matrices for the electrical detection of DNA in composite three-dimensional assemblies. While sensitive and selective electrochemical sensors for DNA were fabricated, the integration of these sensor configurations in array formats (DNA chips) for the multiplexed analysis of many DNAs can also be envisaged. [Pg.372]

Nal(Tl) crystals. The sample to be counted is mounted between Mylar sheets on a 1/4-inch thick X 5-inch diameter plastic ring. This system is presently used with a four quadrant, multiplexed, 4096-channel, multidimensional analyzer. The multidimensional y spectrum in coincidence with the proportional counter events is recorded in one quadrant, and the anticoincident multidimensional y spectrum is recorded in another quadrant thus, no data are lost. The various background y spectra obtained with this detector assembly are compared in Figure 12. The y-y coinci-... [Pg.248]

Figure 8.2.2 (a) Schematic of the four-coil probehead introduced in Reference [12]. The four individual solenoidal coils are represented by an inductance (L), series resistance (R), and inter-turn capacitance (Q. The entire circuit was impedance-matched to 50 it at a frequency of 300 MHz by using the variable capacitors Ct and Cm. (b) Photograph of the four-coil assembly. Reprinted from MacNamara, E., Hou. T., Fisher, G., Wilhams, S. and Raftery, D., Multiplex Sample NMR an approach to high-throughput NMR using a parallel coil probe , Anal. Chem. Acta, 397, 9-16, copyright (1999), with permission of Elsevier Science... [Pg.262]

The motivation of that effort is to improve spatial resolution, spectral resolution, measurement accuracy and sensitivity. Also of great interest is the implementation of single shot multiplex spectroscopy for turbulent combustion diagnostics. The CARS spectrometer consists in a portable, lightweight source assembly developed jointly with Quantel and in detection kits which can be adapted to various experimental problems. The source assembly comprises a frequency-doubled yag laser and a tunable dye laser space is provided on the optical table for various beam handling and combining optics ( 1 ). ... [Pg.311]

Figure 5 Schematic of a complete multiplexed and integrated instrumental design with eight capillaries. Stars at I, U1, and U2 represent the multiplexed freeze/ thaw valves. The T-assembly is made up of eight pieces of commercial junctions stacked together. These connect to the manifold M1, the SEC (size-exclusion chromatography) purification columns, and the reaction loops. The cross-assembly is made of eight pieces of standard crosses packed together with built-in heaters. V8 is an eight-position motorized titanium valve with a center port. S1 is a two-position motorized PEEK valve. V6 is a six-position motorized PEEK valve. (Reprinted from Ref. 33 with permission.)... Figure 6 Schematic of a complete multiplexed and integrated instrumental design for PCR analysis with eight channels. Different functional capillaries were connected by a T-assembly and a cross-assembly. Stars represent the freeze/thaw valves V1 and V2. A syringe pump and a six-way selection valve were used to load and distribute liquids for various purposes. A CCD camera was used to collect fluorescence from the eight capillaries simultaneously. The temperature control unit at the cross-assembly was used to denature DNA prior to injection. (Reprinted from Ref. 34 with permission.)... The reactor assembly is put under the control of a computer using appropriate components for communicating with the computer through an interface. The interface is required to multiplex the communications between the central processor of the computer and each of the elements of reactor hardware. [Pg.290]
