This principle of property-in-whiteness was upheld in less known cases as well. When another Syrian, Faras Shahid, petitioned for citizenship in South Carolina (1913), the court observed that in color, he is about that of walnut, or somewhat darker than is the usual mulatto of one half mixed blood between the white and the negro races. The affinities and transporter selectivities of experimental agents were assessed in brain tissue of adult cynomolgus or rhesus monkeys (Macaca fasicularis or Macaca mulatto). Caudate-putamen was the source of the dopamine and serotonin transporters. The dopamine transporter affinity was measured with [3H]WIN 35428 ([3H]CFT), while the serotonin transporter was measured with [3H]citalopram. Testing data are provided in Table 2.

The Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatto) could probably serve as an animal model for human skin regional variation (Wester Maibach, 1999).
