Morpholine properties

Monobutylamines are easily soluble in water and hydrocarbons and can generally be steam distilled. These properties lead to uses in soaps for water and oil emulsions, and as corrosion inhibitors in steam boiler appHcations (see Corrosion and corrosion inhibitors Emulsions). Morpholine is also extensively used as a corrosion inhibitor in steam boiler systems. In addition, it is widely used as an intermediate in the production of delayed-action mbber accelerators. [Pg.199]

The supported aqueous phase methodology was applied to the system Pd(OAc)2/5 TPPTS, a catalytic precursor for the Trost-Tsuji reaction. The characterization of the solid by 31P MAS NMR confirms the presence of Pd°(TPPTS)3 as the main surface species. The catalytic properties of the solid were tested for the allylic substitution of E-cinnamylethylcarbonate by different nucleophiles such as ethyl acetoacetate, dimethyl malonate, morpholine, phenol, and 2-mercapto-pyridine. The absence of palladium leaching was demonstrated, and having solved the problem of water leaching from the solid to the organic phase, the SAP-Pd catalyst was successfully recycled several times without loss in its activity. It was used in a continuous flow experiment which... [Pg.465]

It is said that one of these products, perfluoro-4-(2-cyclohexyloxyethyl) morpholine, has promising properties as a blood substitute. [Pg.220]

Piperazine (539 Z=NH) and morpholine (539 Z = 0) show typical aliphatic secondary amine properties, but their pKa values, 9.8 and 8.4, respectively (cf. piperidine pKa 11.2), reflect the inductive effect of the second heteroatom. [Pg.247]

The morpholine derivatives phenmetrazine (173 R = H) and phendimetrazine (173 R = Me) have stimulant properties like those of amphetamine. They have been used as anorectics, but they are liable to abuse. Another CNS stimulant used as an anorectic is mazindol (174), which bears some resemblance to certain benzhydrols with antidepressant activity. [Pg.170]

Sodium in either pyridine or morpholine reacts with sucrose to give a substance that, reportedly, does not have the properties of an alcoholate.1 7 Further work with these solvent media is necessary before any definite conclusions regarding the reaction products can be made. [Pg.270]
