All things are possible. All feelings are possible. A person may "try on" various moods like so many pieces of clothing. Subjects and objects whirl, transform, change into each other, merge, fuse, disperse again. External objects dance and sing. The mind plays upon them as upon a musical instrument. They assume any form,... 

At this point, if you have faithfully done the exercises and assignments laid out in previous chapters, you will have learned, among other things, how to write and revise both character description and location description in format how to use offscreen sound to create mood and evoke offscreen events how to begin to develop a character how to gather and transform material for an adaptation and how to do a story outline for a short screenplay to be written using that material. 

Our brains—and our lives—are more complicated than any pinball machine, and we re only beginning to understand all the different factors that create our energy, our well-being, and our mood. In this book, you ll have the opportunity to learn more about some of what I ve come to consider the key factors—brain chemistry, diet, exercise, mental outlook, and openness of spirit. Working with any one of these factors can make a huge difference in overcoming your depression. Working with all of them at once can create a kind of quantum improvement that may, over time, astonish you. This potential for both slow transformation and quantum leaps is to me the true value of the chemistry of joy. 

After exposure, the material is often transformed by the hver into less toxic water-soluble compounds or in some cases into more toxic intermediate metabohtes. In other cases, the solvents are lipophihc, i.e., may be taken up and accumulate in hpid-rich tissues such as the nervous system.The acute, short-term neurotoxic effects result from action of the solvent on the CNS. The effects may range from symptoms resembling intoxication to CNS depression, psychomotor impairment, narcosis, and death from respiratory failure. At intermediate levels of exposure, common effects are drowsiness, headache, dizziness, dyspepsia, and nausea. Short-term effects may cause mood changes as well, as reflected by increasing feelings of physical and mental tiredness during an exposure period corresponding to a typical workshift, for example.

The rapid proliferation of digital music has also given rise to an explosion of music-related information, and the new field of music information retrieval has been focused on finding methods for managing this data. In the future, listening to music will be transformed by systems that can locate pieces selected from a practically unlimited pool of available music, and fine-tuned to satisfy the mood and preferences of the listener at that moment.
