The reaction is not hazardous Reactivity with Common Materials May corrode metals in presence of moisture Stability During Transport Stable Neutralizing Agents for Acids and Caustics Flush with water Polymerization Not pertinent Inhibitor of Polymerization Not pertinent. [Pg.14]

The Stille reaction has developed as a popular protocol for the formation of C-C bonds due to the air- and moisture-stability as well as functional group compatibility of organotin compounds. Together with the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling it is one of the most powerful methods for the synthesis of molecules containing unsymmetrical biaryl moieties. However, despite its efficiency, this versatile reaction has slowly been displaced by other procedures that avoid the use of highly toxic organostannanes. [Pg.177]

In summary, these results demonstrate that air-stable POPd, POPdl and POPd2 complexes can be directly employed to mediate the rate-limiting oxidative addition of unactivated aryl chlorides in the presence of bases, and that such processes can be incorporated into efficient catalytic cycles for a variety of cross-coupling reactions. Noteworthy are the efficiency for unactivated aryl chlorides simplicity of use, low cost, air- and moisture-stability, and ready accessibility of these complexes. Additional applications of these air-stable palladium complexes for catalysis are currently under investigation. [Pg.180]

Susceptibility to complexation is one of the main properties of 1-boraadadamantane compounds. Air and moisture stability of many amine adducts is particularly important in connection with the biological activity of certain 1-boraadamantane derivatives <1979KFZ35, 1983KFZ1077, 2003JME2823, 1996CHEC-II(8)889>. [Pg.588]

Organotrialkoxysilanes (ArSi(OR)3) were used as organometallic reagents without fluoride additives (Scheme 56).144,144a ArSi(OR)3 was easy to use because of its higher air and moisture stability. Oi and co-workers believed that hydrolysis of the trialkoxysilanes to generate silanetriols was likely occurring prior to transmetallation of the cationic rhodium complex. [Pg.393]

A mixture of sodium nitrite with ammonium chloride may decompose with time to form unstable ammonium nitrite. The presence of moisture and of acids favours the decomposition of a mixture of sodium nitrite with ammonium chloride. On the other hand, alkaline reaction and absence of moisture stabilize the system. Experiments have shown that for all practical purposes the mixture is best stabilized by the addition of 2% sodium carbonate. Ammonium carbonate or magnesium oxide may also be used. [Pg.525]

The moisture stability of the organostannanes and good functional group tolerance of the reaction make it most extensively used in coupling reactions. However, toxicity and low polarity of tin compounds are certain drawbacks of the use of the Stille reaction. The Suzuki coupling makes use of boronic acids and their derivatives, which is an improvement on the Stille coupling. In contrast to the Suzuki, Kumada, Heck and Sonogashira reactions which are carried out under basic conditions, the Stille reaction can be carried out under neutral conditions. [Pg.209]

Salts like [emim]BF can be prepared by metathesis of l-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide [anim]l with silver tetrafluoroborate Ag[BFJ that offers greater moisture stability and immiscibility with a number of organic solvents. Two poly(cyclodiborazane) polymers containing group-10 transition metal-acetylide groups P50 and P51 were prepared by Chujo et al. and represent a new kind of organometal-lic acetylide polymers functionalized with group-13 boron elements in the main chain.78 The structures of P50 and P51 were confirmed by IR and NMR ( H, 31P, and nB) spectra. The optical properties were studied by UV-vis absorption and emission measurements. It was shown that these polymers display extended -conjugation length via transition metal and boron atom with enhanced air- and moisture stability. [Pg.263]

Silicon oxynitrides (SiOxNy) are thin films that are basically a mixture of silicon oxide and silicon nitride, produced in a CVD-process by adding nitrous oxide (N20) to the gases used for silicon nitride deposition. By changing the oxide-to-ni-tride ratio, the properties of these films can be modified towards improved thermal and moisture stability and lower stress compared to pure silicon oxide or silicon nitride thin films [32]. At low oxygen concentrations (0/(0+ N) <0.3), oxynitride layers have good diffusion barrier characteristics [33] and oxidation resistance. [Pg.156]
