Melia toosendan

Limonoids (tetranorterpenoids with furan fragments) from Melia toosendan (Meliaceae) and their antifeedant activity 99H(50)595. 

From the root bark of Melia toosendan, closely related to Melia azedarach, three different C-seco limonoids were isolated, all three having antifeedant activity against the larvae of S. eridania. Of these three, nimbolidin F (229) was the most active at 500 ppm while 3-O-acetylohchinolal (230) and ohchinolide C (231) were only active at 1000 ppm.102... 

For premenstrual breast distention, add Fructus Meliae Toosendan (Chuan Lian Zi) and Spica Prunellae Vulgaris (Xia Gu Cao). 

For early cirrhosis of the liver with abdominal distention, bleeding gums, yellow urine, constipation, a red tongue with thin, yellow coating, and a wiry, thready, rapid pulse, add Radix Polygoni Multiflori (He Shou Wu), Herba Ecliptae Prostratae (Han Lian Cao), Carapax Amydae (Bie Jia), Concha Ostreae (Mu Li), and Fructus Meliae Toosendan (Chuan Lian Zi). If there is also edema and loose stools, add Rhizoma Atractylodis... 

For lateral costal pain, add Rhizoma Corydalis Yanhusuo (YanHu) and Fructus Meliae Toosendan Chuan Lian Zi). 

For cold hernia pain due to cold and dampness attacking the small intestine, subtract Peony, Mint, and Bupleurum and add Fructus Meliae Toosendan Chuan Lian Zi), Fructus Evodiae Rutecarpae Wu Zhu Yu), Radix Saussureae Seu Vladimiriae Mu Xiang), and Fructus Foeniculi Vulgaris Xiao Hui Xiang). 

Also for hypochondrial and lateral costal pain, add Radix Bupleuri Chai Hu), Fructus Meliae Toosendan ( Chuan Lian Zi), Rhizoma Cyperi Rotundi Xiang Fu), and Radix Albus Paeoniae Lactiflorae Bai Shao). 

For severe abdominal pain, add Radix Saussureae Seu Vladimiriae (Mu Xiang) and Fructus Meliae Toosendan...
