As soon as the heat is less strong, herbs that reduce the empty-heat and nourish the Yin should be used, such as Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae rhizoma), and Han Lian Cao (Ecliptae herba). 

Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae radix ) and Han Lian Cao (Ecliptae herba)... 

For chronic hepatitis with insomnia, excessive dreams, a bitter taste in the mouth, a red tongue with scant coating, and a wiry, thready, rapid pulse, add Herba Ecliptae Prostratae (Han Lian Cao), Fructus Ligustri Lucidi (Nu Zhen Zi), Concha Margaritiferae (Zhen Zhu Mu), and Radix Et Rhizoma Oryzae Glutinosae (Nuo Dao Gen). 

For hematemesis and epistaxis, add Cacumen Biotae Orientalis (Ce Bai Ye), Rhizoma Imperatae Cylindricae (Bat Mao Gen), and Herba Ecliptae Prostratae (Han Lian Cao). 

For more prominent yin vacuity, subtract Curculigo and add Herba Ecliptae Prostratae Han Lian Cao) and Fructus Ligustri Lucidi Nu Zhen Zi).
