All the alien species entered the Sea of Azov from the Black Sea via the Kerch Strait with currents or with ships. Selected species negatively affected the ecosystem, while the others enrich its flora and fauna [22,26,27]. Antoine-]irdme Balard (1802-1876) grew up in Montpellier near the French Mediterranean coast. At the age of 17 he began to study at the ficole de Pharmacie and was examined in 1826.
