There are few data about pharmacological management of chronic CSA nephrotoxicity in the clinical setting. McCulloch et al studied the effects of nifedipine in CSA-induced interstitial fibrosis in renal transplantation. A baseline study is the study of the original status of the environment in the area before the development work of the project is started. This study serves the purpose of a base reference against which the changes due to implementation of the project are measured. Baseline studies are based on the experience with respect to environmental aspects and cover everything important about the environmental impacts of the project.

Procedures The test procedures for the first tier of ASTM D7475-11 involve measuring baseline mechanical or chemical properties and then placing test specimens in an aerobic degradation environment. The mechanical or chemical properties are measured after a specified time. Differences in mechanical or chemical properties are recorded. 

The TMA sample is prepared as a rod, of round or square section, with width suitable for the sample holder in use (usually 5 mm) and of the greatest height compatible with the sample holder and furnace hot zone (commonly 7 mm). Rod ends are ground flat and parallel and sample length is measured with a micrometre screw gauge or similar to ensure maximum accuracy. The sample probe should be a flat silica rod of similar diameter to the sample. The temperature ramp rate should be low and isochronal, of the order of 2-3°C/min, and the applied load small (<50 mN) to prevent fast compression of the sample on reaching 2. A baseline run is carried out under identical conditions but without the sample, usually before each measurement baselines should be checked at least monthly. 

Because a lot is known about the particular behavior of iso-thermally crystallized iPS, we can constmct baseline heat capacity as described and end up with reasonable data in Figure 30. Already for nonisothermally crystallized iPS, this procedure does not work, because we do not know at what temperature the RAF devitrifies. Obviously it would be best to measure baseline heat capacity directly. Temperature-modulated calorimetry may provide a tool for such measurements if reversing melting can be excluded. As discussed in Section 2.31.2.2.3, temperature modulation at sufifidendy high frequencies offers the possibility of a direct measurement of baseline heat capacity. A first attempt...
