Materials amount

Raw material amounts. This is the stuff needed to make the produc t. [Pg.752]

Sometimes the term recipe is used to designate only the raw material amounts and other parameters to be used in manufacturing a batch. Although appropriate for some batch processes, this concept is far too restrictive For others. For some products, the differences from one product to the next are largely physical as opposed to chemical. For such products, the processing instruc tions are especially important. The term formula is more appropriate for the raw material amounts and other parameters, with recipe designating the formula and the processing instruc tions. [Pg.752]

For the second method the threshold concentration of the filler in a composite material amounts to about 5 volume %, i.e. below the percolation threshold for statistical mixtures. It is bound up with the fact that carbon black particles are capable (in terms of energy) of being used to form conducting chain structures, because of the availability of functional groups on their surfaces. This relatively sparing method of composite material manufacture like film moulding by solvent evaporation facilitates the forming of chain structures. [Pg.132]

The solution developed (see Figure 5.5) considers simultaneously, and in an optimal way, the most important aspects affecting the copper production. In order to cover the process itself and the necessary information and decision flow, the solution builds on a valid and robust process model that captures the main chemical reactions and is able to link the variable material amounts with predicted processing times. The main input data comprises ... [Pg.99]

The presented solution approach is unique, since it performs a full schedule optimization, simultaneously taking into account equipment availability, process sequencing, material amounts (recipes) based on the underlying chemical reactions,... [Pg.106]

For the materiality standard, we chose 5 % - that is, the total amount of accounts receivable must be greater than 5% of sales for the test to apply. The impact of this materiality test was to retain some large companies (e.g. grocery stores) in our model whose business model had non-material amounts of accounts receivable but that had greater than 10% growth rate of accounts receivable compared to sales growth for 1997-2002. [Pg.115]

Although there is a lot of science and space-age technology involved in the construction of composites, many composites have been initially formulated through a combination of this science and trial-and-error, giving recipes that contain the nature and form of the fiber and matrix materials, amounts, additives, and processing conditions. [Pg.241]

The aqueous raffinate was evaporated slightly under reduced pressure to remove ether, and then it was centrifuged. The centrifuged solids were washed with water, filtered, and dried. This insoluble material amounted to 60.8% of the starting lignin, and the methoxyl represented 51.1% of the starting methoxyl. [Pg.162]

A consequence of looking for novel secondary metabolites with bioassay driven approaches is that novel natural compounds are generally structurally complex and are often bound only in very small amounts. The first three groups of compounds that we identified were extremely potent at preventing barnacle settlement. However, they occurred in mg/kilogram dry weight of starting material amounts, and each had approximately seven chiral centers.5194 Compounds with this abundance and complexity have little practical commercial potential. [Pg.556]

Line defects in crystals such as screw or edge dislocations are quite common in solid substances. The typical length of all dislocation in 1 m3 of annealed material amounts to 1010 m (10 km in 1 cm3). The so-called dislocation density is defined as ... [Pg.408]
