Manganese dioxide magnesium

Within each Part, chapters are included on all available types of primary batteries, secondary batteries and batteries available in primary and secondary versions. The primary batteries include carbon-zinc, carbon-zinc chloride, mercury-zinc and other mercury types, manganese dioxide-magnesium perchlorate, magnesium organic, lithium types (sulphur dioxide, thionyl chloride, vanadium pentoxide, iodine and numerous other lithium types), thermally activated and seawater batteries. Batteries available in primary and secondary Corms include alkaline manganese, silver-zinc, silver-cadmium, zinc-air and cadmium-air. The secondary batteries discussed include lead-acid, the nickel types (cadmium, iron, zinc, hydrogen), zinc-chlorine, sodium-sulphur and other fast ion types. [Pg.13]

Field experience has shown that shelf life is an outstanding characteristic of manganese dioxide-magnesium perchlorate batteries. After 18 months storage at room temperature, magnesium batteries have yielded 90% of their initial capacity. Storage for 90 days at 55 C has shown that the battery still retains 85% of its initial capacity, and after storage at THC for 30 days the capacity retention is 85%. The shelf life of... [Pg.339]

Manganese dioxide-magnesium perchlorate reserve-type batteries are available from Eagle Picher. [Pg.418]

The advantage of reserve manganese dioxide-magnesium perchlorate batteries is that they can be stored for years in an inactivated condition (that is, longer than the non-reserve type) and require activation with the electrolyte before use. However, unlike the non-reser e type, it is neeessary, onee they... [Pg.418]

Eagle Picher manganese dioxide-magnesium perchlorate batteries of this type meet the requirements of SCS ELCD—201010001. The batteries are non-hazardous, being vented to atmosphere, and nonexplosive the electrolyte is far less corrosive than that used in conventional alkaline batteries. [Pg.686]
