Manganese compositional model

The physical description of strongly pressure dependent magnetic properties is the object of considerable study. Edwards and Bartel [74E01] have performed the more recent physical evaluation of strong pressure and composition dependence of magnetization in their work on cobalt and manganese substituted invars. Their work contrasts models based on a localized-electron model with a modified Zener model in which both localized- and itinerant-electron effects are incorporated in a unified model. Their work favors the latter model. [Pg.122]

The manganese content of the basal diets and of urine, feces and whole blood was measured using a Varian Techtron Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Model 1275. Urine samples were read directly using a graphite furnace attachment (Model GTA-95). Fecal composites were analyzed for fat content (13). Serum total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol were enzymatically assayed (12,14). [Pg.132]

Model Ni/MnOx catalysts were prepared by 150-X nickel deposition onto an oxidized manganese disk under ultra-high vacuum. The surface composition of the catalyst wa-s followed as a function of time at 500 K in ultra-high vacuum. Rapid diffusion of reduced manganese oxide onto the nickel surface was observed. This oxide migration phenomenon was observed for a wide range of metal/... [Pg.54]

Where both cobalt and manganese are present in solution, the coprecipitation of hausmannite and C03O4 might be expected. Sinha et al. (25) found that random substitution of cobalt for Mn " or Mn could occur in such material occurrence of Co in manganese oxide crystal-lattice positions was noted by Bums (4). Apparently there are no thermodynamic data for mixed cobalt + manganese oxides, but the behavior of the ions can probably be represented over a considerable range of solid composition by a solid—solution model based on the equilibrium between the pure end members. Thus... [Pg.65]

In this paper preliminary results of the synthesis and characterization of model composites, consisting of Si wafers covered with thin layers of chromium, manganese and iron oxide and a silicalite-1 coating are presented. [Pg.1165]

A) Composite diffraction pattern along the [001] zone of Au4Mn B) Schematic representation of composite diffraction pattern (open dots indicated locations of basic spots, full dots are superstructure spots) C) High-resolution image of the superstructure (on the right, a small area of basic AuaMn structure is also visible) D) Model of the one-dimensional superstructure only manganese columns are represented... [Pg.1105]
