Mammary carcinoma viruses

The type B oncoviruses comprise the mammary carcinoma viruses of mice, otherwise called mouse mammary tumor viruses (MMTV) (53). Some of these viruses are endogenous (genetically transmitted), while others are exogenous and are involved in somatic infection. Examples of this group are MMTV-S (Bittner s virus) and MMTV-P (GR virus). [Pg.128]
