This is the day you change the water in all of the resenroirs and dean the grow areas. If you feel that you have mastered the maintenance of the pH levels in the water reservoir, you may leave the water in all of the reservoirs except the cloning resenroir for one more week, if the plants in any of the grow beds show any adverse effects, such as difficulty in maintaining pH or PPM, then change the water in that reservoir immediately and re-balance the pH.

When equipment maintenance is carried out within the dean area dean instruments and tools should be used, and the area should be deaned and disinfected where appropriate before processing recommences, if the required standards of deanliness and/or asepsis have not been maintained during the maintenance work.

For maintenance the columns and/or top plates must be lifted. For this purpose hydraulic/pneumatic lifting pistons integrated in the column or other methods are applied. If several columns are in use a crane suitable for dean rooms can be used.

The test program confirmed that frequent online cleaning extends the time interval between offiine cleaning operations. Thus it is a real benefit to the operator, because the sdiedtded downtime allowed for maintenance can be reduced if the frequency of offiine deaning with its associated cooling downtime can be reduced. The availabdity and performance, as well as the overall profitability of the plant, will be improved.
