Magnesium sources

Calcium and/or magnesium sulphates can originate from dry deposition of aerosols, from deposition of dust or from sulphur-containing rocks in the catchment. Since carbonate seems not to be the only calcium and magnesium source, the alkalinity consumption calculated earlier must be considered as an overestimation. 

Prior to fermentation, the hydrolysates (obtained at CS 1.94) were sterilized using 0.22-pm Gelman membrane filters (Ann Arbor, MI). pH-adjusted and detoxified hydrolysates were supplemented with salts, vitamins, nitrogen, phosphate, and magnesium sources. The nutrients were added in concentrated stock solutions to final concentrations as described before (24), except citric acid, which was replaced with EDT A (final concentration of 0.19 g/L). In the nonsupplemented medium, the supplements were replaced with sterile water. 

In the study reported here, attempts are made to determine the effect of pH and magnesium hydroxide on the removal of coloured matter and turbidity from model solutions with dolomite coagulants as lime and magnesium sources. 

If an aluminum target is used, an aluminum window placed after the target removes much of the and background radiation (Bremsstrahlung) from the aluminum source. A magnesium filter can be used in a similar fashion with a magnesium source. 

Experimental conditions. All experiments were conducted with stoichiometric feed ratio and magnesium chloride was used as the magnesium source. The residence times of reactants in the crystallizer were 300, 600 and 1200 seconds.

Magnesium source for all reactions was MgCl2 + K. AU THF reactions refluxed 3 h prior to fluoride. 

For green leafy vegetables, extrinsic and intrinsic labeling yielded similar data, which minimizes labeling efforts for these highly relevant magnesium sources in the diet [206, 207]. 

Geologically, the raw materials mined to produce these cements were, for the most part, different from each other in stmcture, age, and composition. American natural cements were generally derived from argillaceous limestones with high magnesium carbonate content, while European cements were generally produced from low magnesium source materials [20]. This had an important impact on their ultimate properties.
