Mallinckrodt Baker Inc

Diethyl ether was purchased from Mallinckrodt Baker, Inc., and purified immediately before use by distillation from sodium/benzophenone under inert atmosphere.

The tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (25% TMAH) used was provided by Mallinckrodt Baker Inc. Both ammonium hydroxide (29% NH4OH) and hydrogen peroxide (30% H2O2) were donated by Olin Microelectronic Materials. In experiments that were conducted in the pH range of 8 to 10,10" M potassium nitrate (KNO3) was added to increase the conductivity of the solution to overcome any IR drop that might occur between the working electrode and the reference electrode.

Xylene Baker Analyzed ACS and n-Heptane Baker Analyzed were purchased from J. T. Baker (Mallinckrodt Baker Inc., Phillipsburg, NJ). Membrane filters in Regenerated Cellulose (0.45 pm, 0 47 mm, type 184) were obtained from Sartorius AG (Goettingen, Germany). 

Xylene (Mallinckrodt Baker, Inc., Phillipsburg, NJ, USA). Xylene vapor is harmful or fatal, use with appropriate ventilation, discard in appropriate hazardous waste container. Xylene is flammable, store and use away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Contact hazard wear gloves when handling.
