Loop compensation

First one assumes that the final closed loop compensation network will have a continuous -20dB/decade slope. To achieve a 15 kHz cross-over frequency, the amplifier must add gain to the input signal and push-up the gain curve of the Bode plot. 

This completes the design of the feedback loop compensation elements, and the error amplifier curves and the overall plots are also included in Figure 3-66. This also completes the design of the major portions of the switching power supply. The schematic is shown in Figure 3-67. 

These tools and eircuits form the basis of the design approaeh within the feed-baek loop compensation circuits in power supplies.

Some sensors include a second metallization layer to integrate a planar coil. Its additional field can be used as a flipping field for offset reduction or as a closed-loop compensation to keep the transfer curve at maximum sensitivity, what is especially necessary for low-field applications. In a third application, angle sensors, planar coils generate an auxiliary field to expand the measuring range. 

The chapter on loop stability is likewise presented from scratch to finish, with very detailed accompanying graphics. My hope is that for the first time the reader will have easy access to almost all the equations required for loop compensation. Now, even a novice, can very quickly get very deep into this area (as I once did). 

If Gp, Gd, Gf, and Gm2 are known exactly, the feedforward loop compensates completely for disturbance or set point changes and the feedback controller remains idle since i stays continuously zero.
