Liquids analysis process liquid cells

We have also studied polysaccharide deposition processes during cell wall formation (7), by gas-liquid chromatographic analysis of fractions sep-... [Pg.48]

Also an onboard electrical power supply, e.g., by photovoltaic cells or thermogenerators coimected to a lab-frame irradiation source, would introduce additional, frequency-independent degrees of freedom, enabling a multi-force manipulation of the processed liquids. Another extension of present centrifugal systems is the (wireless) data communication with the lab-frame workstation for an improved process control and analysis. [Pg.392]

Principles and Characteristics In Chp. 8 of ref. [113a] we discussed elemental analysis modes in which the sample was approached to the elemental analysis tool. Mobile spectrometers are more suitable for in situ or on-line monitoring. Various such tools have recently been developed, as portable XRF and LIES A . X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis may be based on either electron or radio-isotope excitation. Compact, rugged, and reliable on-line XRF analysers based on radioisotope excitation have been described [25]. On-line (micro-)XRF analysers need very little if any sample preparation compared to many other techniques. Of prime importance is that the surface at the cell window represents the whole sample stream. The instruments are capable of excellent on-line performance for many applications such as process liquids, slurries, solids (e.g., polymer pellets), powders, and others. Process control XRF allows simultaneous determination of up to 32 elements. [Pg.721]

The bioconversion process of Acid Orange 7 will be hereby analyzed. This is an incremental study with respect to that due to Lodato et al. [41], based on the operation of an airlift reactor with cells of Pseudomonas sp. 0X1 immobilized on natural pumice (density = 1,000 kg/m3 particle size = 800-1,000 pm). Details regarding the strain, medium, culture growth and main diagnostics of the liquid phase are reported by Lodato et al. [41]. Elemental analysis of dry biomass was obtained by a C/H/N 600 LECO analyzer. [Pg.120]

The most efficient method of conducting SFE is via the dynamic process illustrated in Figure 15.4. This process enables the addition of a polar modifier such as methanol, which increases the solvent strength of the non-polar CO2. The liquid CO2 with about 5% v/v of modifier is passed though a stainless steel cell containing the sample, which may be mixed with inert material so that the sample occupies the whole cell volume. Two recent examples of the utilisation of SFE in the analysis of pharmaceuticals are discussed as follows. [Pg.318]

In flow injection analysis, a sample is injected into a moving liquid stream to which various reagents can be added. After a suitable time, the reacted sample reaches a detector, which is usually a spectrophotometric cell. Flow injection is widely used in medical and pharmaceutical analysis, water analysis, and industrial process control. [Pg.410]
