While some trends come and go, others, related to GMP/CGMP, security and integrity, intensify. This also applies to legal issues which extend as law, directives and guidelines (FDA, ICH, EU, etc.). Counterfeiting or pass-offs are one of the current concerns, and no doubt this trend will result in increased technology and improved practices. 

There are now many different training options for forensic psychology, and the field has several scholarly journals. There are now three major career paths those that are interested in the social science issues of law or research about how the law works, study of how the law impacts and regulates psychology in research and practice, and social policy research and connecting psychological data and research on legal issues [8]. 

The basic building blocks of business development deals are, for the most part, contracts. These contain various degrees of complexity depending on the number of elements and parties to the contract. Another part of the law which you will need to be familiar is intellectual property law which, in the pharmaceutical industry, underlies most of the value of the products. Some of the practical issues that need to be addressed by business development will be discussed in this book, but no attempt to pre-empt legal advice or interpret the legal mind will be made.

Questions about the influence of the law arise out of wider theoretical concerns about the nature of the law in society, the maintenance of social order, and the management of conflict. 

In health and safety, the legal definition of negligence, duty of care and terms such as practicable and as far as is reasonably practicable are all based on legal judgements and form part of the common law. Common law also provides the foundation for most civil claims made on health and safety issues.
