Lateral connections, lining

The elevation difference between the main yard bank and laterally connecting pipe lines is about 2 to 2-1/2 feet. This gives an elevation difference of 4 to 5 feet between two main yard banks. 

In contrast to other studies, oxidation carried out in this department on a Pt/7-Al203 catalyst has not uncovered any oscillatory behaviour in the temperature range of 100-185 °C. Addition of a hydrocarbon like but-l-ene, but-2-ene, or propene induces sinusoidal or relaxation type oscillations at temperatures above 150 °C. The experimental set-up used consists of a continuous recycle reactor system. The catalyst is packed in the cylindrical tubes. The gas flow rates are precisely measured with a bubble flow-meter. The reactor outlet is connected to a magnetic deflection mass spectrometer. An electronic peak select unit allows up to four mass numbers to be continuously monitored. The output data are connected to a PDP 11/45 computer for automatic and fast data logging. The data thus stored in the computer can be analysed later. The line diagram of the experimental set up is given in Figure 1. 

At the edges of the coated layer its free surface ends in ordinary static contact lines. These lateral contact lines necessarily bend round upstream and connect with the wetting line. Thus at each edge of the layer where it is being delivered to the substrate there must be a curved segment of dynamic contact line, and the apparent slip of the liquid... 

As discussed later, if it is desired to have a liquid purge and damping, the purge rate must be fixed and the liquid level elevation in the chamber known. One could deliberately use the upper connecting line as a condenser, send a fixed amount of condensate via a metering orifice or capillary to the measurement chamber, and overflow the remainder back to the column. 

After the time-varying process has finished and the signal has become stabilized twelve-bit ADT connected with common line of SC EDC starts to work. And 5... 10 is later after start ADT gives digital code of input voltage, and this code is recorded into SC EDC memory. 

A mechanic was instructed to fit a steam supply at a gauge pressure of 200 psi to a process line in order to clear a blockage. By mistake, a steam supply at a gauge pressure of 40 psi was connected. Neither supply was labeled the 40 prsi supply was not fitted with a check valve resulting in backflow of process material into the steam supply line. Later the. steam supply caught fire when used to disperse a small leak. 

Some vertical drain lines in a building were no longer needed, so they were disconnected and capped but left connected to the horizontal main drain below. The caps were fixed with tape but were not made watertight as there was no way. it seemed, that water could get into them. Fifteen years later a choke developed in the main drain, water backed up into the disused legs and dripped into an electrical switch box. All power was lost, and some of the switch gear was damaged beyond repair [23]. 

The alkane series is also called the saturated hydrocarbon series because the molecules of this class have carbon atoms connected by single bonds only, and therefore have the maximum number of hydrogen atoms possible for the number of carbon atoms.
