Language choice

An experienced programmer may elect to implement the system "from scratch" in one of many currently available languages. A thorough discussion of the merits of language choices is beyond the scope of this text, however some general points may be made. [Pg.245]

Training developers should ensure that readability and language choices match the intended audience. Therefore, the training materials must be written in the language and grammar of the everyday speech of the employees (Best Practices for the Development, Delivery, and Evaluation of Susan Harwood Training Grants, Public Domains, 2010). [Pg.327]

Improper Language Choice of language can have significant impact on time to develop, special-purpose languages can make implementation, verification and analysis easier, C++Sim, Java Sim, SimPy (thon). [Pg.262]

Restricts language choices that may be used and the choice of the structures used within these languages. [Pg.281]

If the query provides thousands of hits, the analyze features are particularly advantageous. One method is to analyze the results by any of the criteria that arc listed, c.g., by language (default), author names, journals, puhlication year, and so on. If one specification is selected and the choice is modified, the hit list will be updated. A more specific analysis is available with the Refine" option. where the user has the opportunity to choose one of eight criteria (including the search topics above) with further individual input. Several refinements of the hit list can reduce the result to a concise list of literature. To read the abstract of an article, the microscope button (to the right of the citation) has to be pressed (Figure 5-15). [Pg.245]

It was indicated that the original method can be extended on systems where two or three analytes can be determined from a single titration curve. The shifts DpH affected by j-th PT addition should be sufficiently high it depends on pH value, a kind and concentration of the buffer chosen and its properties. The criterion of choice of the related conditions of analysis has been proposed. A computer program (written in MATLAB and DELPHI languages), that enables the pH-static titration to be done automatically, has also been prepared. [Pg.83]

Japanese investors in overseas manufacturing operations have been careful in their approach as well as in their choice of location. It is notable that the United States has received more than its share of Japanese investment in terms of population. An important factor here is language, as English is the most commonly spoken foreign language in Japan. [Pg.36]

It is thus very important that the output of any simulation is checked, using other integration methods. Most simulation languages allow a choice of integration routine which can be made best on the basis of experience. It is... [Pg.124]

A patient with a lesion in Wernicke s area is unable to understand any spoken or visual information. Furthermore, the patient s speech, while fluent, is unintelligible because of frequent errors in the choice of words. This condition is known as receptive aphasia. On the other hand, a patient with a lesion in Broca s area is able to understand spoken and written language but is unable to express his response in a normal manner. Speech in this patient is nonfluent and requires great effort because he cannot establish the proper motor command to articulate the desired words. This condition is known as expressive aphasia. [Pg.55]

This was probably the most difficult chapter to put together in this book. For many people who use NMR spectrometers, there will be little (or no) choice about parameters for acquisition - they will probably have been set up by a specialist to offer a good compromise between data quality and amount of instrument time used. This could make this chapter irrelevant (in which case you are welcome to skip it). But if you do have some control over the acquisition and/or processing parameters, then there are some useful hints here. This brings us on to the next challenge for the section - hardware (and software) differences. You may operate a Bruker, Varian, Jeol or even another make of NMR spectrometer and each of these will have their own language to describe key parameters. We will attempt to be vendor neutral in our discussions and hopefully you will be able to translate to your own instrument s language. [Pg.24]

Scientists coming from such different positions are able to make strategic use of each other in a borderland, a place where even the choice of what language to use in any given situation allows different types of negotiations for resources, position, and ownership of scientific knowledge.2... [Pg.199]

Directed actions may be implemented in CORBA, in COM, as method calls in an OO programming language, or as a set of calling conventions in some other style the directed actions are mapped based on technical architecture choices.20 There is still a dialog at some level (such as call and return), but this is set by the architecture and local conventions rather than being specific to the participants. [Pg.51]

Our seminar scheduling application will have many classes in its implementation. One likely class is a calendar that tracks various scheduled events for various instructors. We start with two different Java implementations of the calendar. Then we show how the external behaviors can be specified independent of implementation choices and even of implementation language and technology. We will ignore any UI aspects. [Pg.119]

The CNIC does not deny the right of a discoverer to propose a name for a new chemical element. However, the approved names of the elements should differ as little as possible in different languages the names should be based on practicality and prevailing usage and finally the choice of the name carries no implication at all about the priority of discovery. A number of examples of this last point will be seen in the element review. [Pg.2]
