Lack of Available Data

One frequently discussed idea by which to overcome the lack of available data and understanding on a short time range is to pick one, universal ionic liquid and to study this one in very great detail, instead of developing many new systems (combined with an obvious lack in detailed information about these). 

If the metals form carbides which have a negative free energy of formation, then a new reaction is involved. These reactions are not calculated here because of the lack of available data. The results of Guldner and Wooten (12) indicate that carbides are probably formed.

The technique was used in four case studies including the replacement of dichloromethane as a solvent in oxidation reactions of alcohols, which is an important area of green chemistry. 2-Pentanone, other ketones and some esters were suggested as suitable replacement solvents. Only one death was reported in the included studies. Although methodologically correct, the results of this study may be limited by the lack of available data.
