Knowledge resources

Embedded lead users use three different types of knowledge resources wdiile innovating use knowledge, technical knowledge, and process knowledge. [Pg.43]

Use knowledge is built up by using products from the product category in focus. Embedded lead users obtain this kind of knowledge by direct confrontation with the products, i.e. use experience. This knowledge is tadt in that it is deeply rooted in action, commitment, and involvement in a specific context (Nonaka 1994, p. 16), in my case use context. It cannot be transferred easily to other persons, as it is bound to individual employees. Embedded lead users feel, if a certain product is usefiil or not as one manager for gaming equipment points out  [Pg.43]

During innovation they draw on this knowledge, e.g. when they ideate based on problems, which they experience during product use (e.g. Leisured, 8 Sport ). One manager from the leisure industry puts it this way  [Pg.43]

Use knowledge is also deployed during need identification (e.g. SportS, 6 Leisure ) and product testing (e.g. Sportl-3). [Pg.43]

Whereas use knowledge is the basis for identification of need and problems, technical or solution knowledge is needed to find solutions to solve such problems. This knowledge [Pg.43]

Harnessing knowledge resources for increasing returns scalable structuration at Infosys Technologies... [Pg.211]

Besides recording internal experiential knowledge in BOK, white papers, and repositories of reusable code, the KM initiative also provides Infoscions with access to publicly available knowledge resources such as websites, glossaries of business and technology terms, technology summaries, online journals and books, external reports, and technology and business news. [Pg.225]

The new directives of the European chemicals policy (REACH) constitute a great challenge for chemical suppliers, because all chemical substances produced, used or imported by the company now have to be registered, evaluated and authorised. However, according to industry experts, it is especially the SMEs that do not have suitable (knowledge) resources to be able to meet these requirements without external support. This is why ChemKit supports its co-operation partners with in-depth REACH consulting. [Pg.187]

We begin the induction of consensus trance, then, with far more power, knowledge, resources, and sophistication on the part of the cultural hypnotist than the ordinary hypnotist can ever hope to have. The cultural hypnotist also possesses the power of innocence he is unconscious of the consensus trance he himself is in and simply sees himself as acting naturally. The child, the subject, knows little and is genuinely dependent on the cultural hypnotists for survival, love, happiness, and validation. It is no wonder that the process induces a lifelong trance. [Pg.96]

Research area and therapeutic experience A CSO with expertise in a variety of scientific disciplines and therapeutic areas will have a pool of experts available as a knowledge resource as results become available for evaluation. [Pg.2489]

A knowledge resource in the form of systematic reviews (see later in this chapter) should provide the critically reviewed evidence of the efficacy, benefits, limitations, and risks from using a test, intervention, or device. Access has classically been through scientific journals and textbooks, and electronic communication of various sorts (includmg textbooks and journals) is making access faster and more up to date. [Pg.325]

The evidence base then underpins the activities that ensure the maintenance of a high quality of service (1) provision of a knowledge resource that summarizes the evidence and its application, (2) use of this resource in education and training of health professionals, and (3) audit to ensure correct implementation and maintenance of good practice. [Pg.347]
