Ketones nitric acid esters

Chlorosulfonic acid Saturated and unsaturated acids, acid anhydrides, nitriles, acrolein, alcohols, ammonia, esters, HCl, HF, ketones, hydrogen peroxide, metal powders, nitric acid, organic materials, water... [Pg.1207]

The corrosion behavior of tantalum is weU-documented (46). Technically, the excellent corrosion resistance of the metal reflects the chemical properties of the thermal oxide always present on the surface of the metal. This very adherent oxide layer makes tantalum one of the most corrosion-resistant metals to many chemicals at temperatures below 150°C. Tantalum is not attacked by most mineral acids, including aqua regia, perchloric acid, nitric acid, and concentrated sulfuric acid below 175°C. Tantalum is inert to most organic compounds organic acids, alcohols, ketones, esters, and phenols do not attack tantalum. [Pg.331]

Oxo Ion Salts. Salts of 0x0 ions, eg, nitrate, sulfate, perchlorate, hydroxide, iodate, phosphate, and oxalate, are readily obtained from aqueous solution. Thorium nitrate is readily formed by dissolution of thorium hydroxide in nitric acid from which, depending on the pH of solution, crystalline Th(N02)4 5H20 [33088-17 ] or Th(N02)4 4H20 [33088-16-3] can be obtained (23). Thorium nitrate is very soluble in water and in a host of oxygen-containing organic solvents, including alcohols, ethers, esters, and ketones. Hydrated thorium sulfate, Th(S0 2 H20, where n = 9, 8, 6, or 4, is... [Pg.37]

It is not only the esters of organic acids which combine, in the manner of the ethyl acetoacetate synthesis , with the enolates of ketones and of esters an analogous behaviour is shown by the esters of nitrous and nitric, acids. The process which leads to the formation of isonitroso-and atinitro-compounds yields products fundamentally similar to those already described just as with ethyl acetate the group CO.CHs enters, so here, the NO- and N02-groups are involved, and enolise " exactly as does >O=0 ... [Pg.259]

It has also been found that certain aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids esters form well defined products with nitric acid (Reddelien [5]). For example, bemzaldehyde with 60% nitric acid gives a colourless, unstable oil, and cinnamic aldehyde forms fairly stable white crystals, melting at 60-61°C, with 65% nitric acid. Acetophenone, benzophenone, fluorenone, phenanthrenoquinone and camphor give similar addition products. [Pg.54]
