Isolator dispensing

It may be preferred that, on the detection of a dispensing defect, the board is cleaned of aU adhesive or solder paste and the dispensing process repeated again. However, in other cases, it may be possible to correct isolated dispensing defects, such as the manual assembly of odd-form components or when as many or more defects would be created by a redispensing step. The latter case is particularly pertinent for very dense circuit boards. [Pg.952]

The starting materials of the aldehyde method may be sulfonated. For example. Cl Acid Blue 9 [2650-18-2] Cl Food Blue 2 (Cl 42090), is manufactured by condensing a-(A/-ethylanilino)-y -toluenesulfonic acid with o-sulfobenzaldehyde. The leuco base is oxidized with sodium dichromate to the dye, which is usually isolated as the ammonium salt. In this case, the removal of the excess amine is not necessary. However, this color caimot be used in the food sector because separation of the chromium compounds from the dye is difficult. An alternative method which gives food-grade Cl Acid Blue 9 (14) and dispenses with the use of sodium dichromate employs oxidative electrolysis of the leuco base (49). [Pg.271]

The ionic liquid process has a number of advantages over traditional cationic polymerization processes such as the Cosden process, which employs a liquid-phase aluminium(III) chloride catalyst to polymerize butene feedstocks [30]. The separation and removal of the product from the ionic liquid phase as the reaction proceeds allows the polymer to be obtained simply and in a highly pure state. Indeed, the polymer contains so little of the ionic liquid that an aqueous wash step can be dispensed with. This separation also means that further reaction (e.g., isomerization) of the polymer s unsaturated ot-terminus is minimized. In addition to the ease of isolation of the desired product, the ionic liquid is not destroyed by any aqueous washing procedure and so can be reused in subsequent polymerization reactions, resulting in a reduction of operating costs. The ionic liquid technology does not require massive capital investment and is reported to be easily retrofitted to existing Cosden process plants. [Pg.322]

Cephalosporins were first isolated from a fungus Cephalosporium sp. in the late 1940s. They have a nucleus that is analogous to that of penicillins and other (3-lactams. As a matter of fact, they have the same mode of action but disrupt the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer of gram-positive bacterial cells. They are some of the most widely prescribed antibiotics, and, because of their broad-spectrum nature, cephalosporins are frequently dispensed to people who are allergic to penicillins. [Pg.42]

Dispensing of starting materials and charging of solids into reactors might be located in isolated and contained areas. [Pg.49]

Pharmacy is the science of preparation, compounding and dispensing of drugs. It is concerned with collection, identification, purification, isolation, synthesis and standardization of medicinal /pharmaceutical substances. [Pg.3]

Pre-twentieth century society had few restrictions as to the types, purity or amounts of substances which could be dispensed for the ills of its citizens. There were isolated laws devised by individual municipalities to protect their populations from food contaminants and extremely toxic materials. But legislation on a national scale was instigated mainly during this century. During the late nineteenth century herbal remedies. [Pg.2]

Recently we have employed the COPAS Biobead bead sorter (Union Biometrica, Somerville, MA) to isolate positive beads from combinatorial libraries. Combinatorial libraries are incubated as described above with a fluorescently tagged protein. The beads are washed to remove unbound proteins and then sorted based on the fluorescence intensity of the protein bound to individual beads. Combinatorial beads can be sorted at a rate of 50-100 thousand beads per hour and the positive beads dispensed into 96-well plates. If necessary, the combinatorial beads can be prescreened to remove beads with excessive fluorescence background. [Pg.315]

Caffeine is used medicinally as a CNS stimulant, usually combined with another therapeutic agent, as in compound analgesic preparations. Theobromine is of value as a diuretic and smooth muscle relaxant, but is not now routinely used. Theophylline is an important smooth muscle relaxant for relief of bronchospasm, and is frequently dispensed in slow-release formulations to reduce side-effects. It is also available as aminophylline (a more soluble preparation containing theophylline with ethylenediamine) and choline theophyllinate (theophylline and choline). The alkaloids may be isolated from natural sources, or obtained by total or partial synthesis. [Pg.394]

A procedure which dispenses with the isolation of the nitroso derivative has been employed in one instance.8 Addition of a benzene solution of nitrosyl chloride to a benzene solution of acetanilide in the presence of fused potassium acetate at 5°, followed by wanning at 30° for two hours, gave a 40% yield of biphenyl. [Pg.251]

In practice, responsible companies processing chemicals operate under an ISO 14000 framework or an equivalent. Their policy and procedure manuals detail the control of activities all the way from receiving and storing chemicals to moving and processing them and, finally, dealing with wastes. They cover worker protection (often with Safety), equipment requirements and setup, chemical and solvent dispensation, processing operations, emissions capture, intermediate and product isolations, and wastewater/waste solvent treatment and disposal. [Pg.91]

A blend was prepared by mixing an 11 wt% solution of bis[(l,2-trifluoromethyl) ethylene-1,2-dithiolato] nickel(II) in toluene with the Step 1 product. After the mixture had been stirred for at least 20 minutes, the solution was filtered through a 0.2-p teflon syringe filter. The filtered solution was then dispensed on a clean level Teflon dish covered with a casting funnel to control the rate of solvent removal. After approximately 8 hours films were isolated. These material were further dried in a vacuum oven at 100°C for at least 24 hours, and the product was isolated as a clear film. [Pg.659]

Solution-phase synthetic methods, as they were described for synthetic organic libraries, can also be applied to materials science and are devoid of the diffusion problems encountered in thin-film deposition. The reagent solutions are mixed and incubated following an appropriate procedure, and the final products are usually isolated by precipitation or crystallization. Automated liquid dispensing units with extreme precision and high rehabiUty can be used in synthetic protocols. No major differences are presented in respect to solution-phase organic library synthesis (see Section 8.2.4). Several examples are briefly illustrated below to provide a quick overview of the currently reported synthetic methods in solution for materials libraries. [Pg.586]
