Internal examples

As in 10-55 hydrazides and hydroxamic acids can be prepared from carboxylic esters, with hydrazine and hydroxylamine, respectively. Both hydrazine and hydroxylamine react more rapidly than ammonia or primary amines (the alpha effect, p. 445). Imidates, RC(=NH)OR, give amidines, RC(=NH)NH2. Lactones, when treated with ammonia or primary amines, give lactams. Lactams are also produced from y- and 5-amino esters in an internal example of this reaction.

Solutions are used topieally as well as internally. Examples of eompounded liquids include topicals (wart solutions), oral syrups and elixirs, nasal solutions, otic solutions, iontophoretic solutions (dexamethasone sodium phosphate), and many others (Table 5). 

With the above referenced open files, the GSC is now providing the Canadian professional landslide community with a series of readily accessible, online technical publications that provide guidance and best practice. These documents build upon and complement other existing international examples of landslide guidelines and best practices. The aim of this Canadian endeavor is to proactively contribute to a strong landslide risk reduction philosophy that is now shared across the globe. 

Nevertheless, there is limited evidence about how the approach can work in practice, and the evidence available comes from international examples applying only a few elements of the VBP approach. The situation is made additionally complex because VBP metrics are often used on conjunction with other schemes. Sweden combines VBP with other approaches such as coverage with evidence development (CED) schemes (Cochrane et al., 2015), and this in turn makes gathering evidence on the effectiveness of VBP approaches challenging (Persson, 2012).

The general list of factors influencing the uncertainty in the gross rock volume included the shape of structure, dip of flanks, position of bounding faults, position of internal faults, and depth of fluid contacts (in this case the OWC). In the above example, the owe is penetrated by two wells, and the dip of the structure can be determined from the measurements made in the wells which in turn will allow calibration of fhe 3D seismic. 

Before starting the realisation of silicium coils, we construct a simpler probe with a 27 mm long excitation coil and 16 wired coil sensors, with 1 mm diameter and 1 mm long. We cannot hope any reconstruction with such a probe, but this allows to validate the whole approach. We tried it with test tubes with longitudinal or circonferential notches, external or internal, 100 pm wide, 100%, 60%, 40%, 20% and 10% deep. Our attention has been especially focused on circonferential notches, which are difficult to detect with usual probes. For example, the measurement signals at 240 kHz standard frequency are shown figure 6 7. 

In this section results will be presented using test samples to determine the accuracy of our approach. Further on an example is shown using the system to analyse casting defects. For the experiments moderate projective magnifications between 1.1 and 1.4 were chosen. The test samples used to determine the accuracy of calibration, 3D defect position and volume estimation consist of several holes representing internal defects of different but known size and shape. 

A first example of application of microtomography is taken from life sciences. Here X-ray microscopy and microtomography allows to reconstruct the internal three-dimensional microstructure without any preparation and sometimes even of living objects. Fig. la shows an X-ray transmission microscopical image of bone (femoral head). Several reconstructed cross-sections are shown in Fig.lb. Fig.lc shows the three-dimensional reconstruction of this bone. 

Other examples of government and military applications of laser-based profilometry include the evaluation of rocket thruster nozzles to locate and measure flame erosion remote inspection of hypervelocity test track and the measurement of sludge deposits on tube internal surfaces. 

Statistical Thermodynamics of Adsorbates. First, from a thermodynamic or statistical mechanical point of view, the internal energy and entropy of a molecule should be different in the adsorbed state from that in the gaseous state. This is quite apart from the energy of the adsorption bond itself or the entropy associated with confining a molecule to the interfacial region. It is clear, for example, that the adsorbed molecule may lose part or all of its freedom to rotate. 

Classically, the nuclei vibrate in die potential V(R), much like two steel balls coimected by a spring which is stretched or compressed and then allowed to vibrate freely. This vibration along the nuclear coordinated is our first example of internal molecular motion. Most of the rest of this section is concerned with different aspects of molecular vibrations in increasingly complicated sittiations.
