Interior Masonry Coatings

Vinyl acrylate thermoplastic acrylic polymers soluble in low aromatic or isoparaffinic solvents are the preferred choice when solvent-borne coatings are chosen for matt wall or ceiling paints. Features which make this system attractive are  [Pg.209]

Particularly in the area of repainting interior surfaces, vinyl acrylate based Plioway paints offer very fast turn-around (two coats in one day and the immediate re-use of the premises). [Pg.209]

Uses Styrene-acrylic for maintenance finishes, high gloss enamels, waterproofing masonry coatings, interior stain blocking primers, architectural primers, automotive refinish, metal coatings, concrete curing membranes... [Pg.166]

Any of these mortars can be used for unit masonry or for stucco (exterior plaster). The finish coat in conventional interior plastering is composed of either neat time putty or a sanded putty, gauged with Keene s cement or gypsum-gauging plaster. The former is called a whitecoat finish the latter a sandfloat finish. [Pg.177]

Zone O refers to dry interiors where structural steel is embedded in concrete, encased in masonry, or protected by membrane- or contact-type fireproofing. Under this type of exposure painting is unnecessary. If it is desired to apply paint for aesthetic reasons or on other interior surfaces, one coat of epoxy mastic can be applied to steel, concrete masonry units, masonry block (a block filler is recommended), sheet rock (a sealer is required), wood, polyvinyl chloride, galvanized steel, and many other surfaces. [Pg.209]

This guide covers one-coat shop painting systems for steel that will not be exposed to corrosive conditions for long periods. They are also suitable for steel encased in concrete in those oases where bonding of steel to concrete is not required. They can be used under fireproofing. These systems are suitable for use on parts or structures exposed in Environmental Zones 0 (encased in concrete or masonry, normally dry) and lA (interior, normally dry). The paints covered by this guide are primers, and if a color other than the standard color is required, the color must be specified. [Pg.818]
