Accord Enterprise Informatics (AEI) products integrate to offer an Oracle-based enterprise-wide solution for chemical information management. These products draw on the power of the Accord Chemistry Engine and Oracle databases to store, search, and analyze chemical structures, related biological and chemical data, experimental results, and registration information. 

Out-of-the-box HTS informatics software solutions with integrated functionality of all three operational components (HTS data, plate and sample tracking, chemical structures) include ActivityBase from IDBS, Assay Explorer from Symyx (former MDL), BioAssay Enterprise from CambridgeSoft, Accord Enterprise (Accelrys), Chemlnnovation (CBIS), and others. However, we recommend careful evaluation of functionality, usability, architecture, and availability of a published application programming interface (API) if the system is to be integrated with other informatics components. Because the commercial solutions have different strengths, one answer is to combine different components or build certain functionalities in-house. 

Another important aspect of informatics support for ADME bioanalysis is the integration of vendor software with each company s informatics infrastructure. For each batch of ADME assays, information such as compound names, molecular formula, and well positions has to be passed along to vendor software to perform optimization and sample analysis. Once the bioanalyti-cal and biological results are processed and reviewed, they need to be published quickly to corporate-wide databases for easy access. A manual solution to this problem is undesirable as it would require multiple steps of manipulation of spreadsheets by humans, which is tediously time consuming and also error prone. To address this, many ADME bioanalytical groups have developed customized software tools to interface corporate infrastructure with vendor software in order to facilitate automated information exchange between the software tools.
