Insurance concepts

It is intended that the use of the tables should be combined with sound engineering judgment and consideration of all relevant factors. Eurthermore, all the solutions presented may not be applicable to a given situation. It should also be recognized that the solutions presented could introduce potential hazards that were not originally present. Therefore, it is necessary to use the table in the context of the total design concept to insure that all hazards have been considered. 

More recently, D. Emin [24] developed an alternative analysis of activated hopping by introducing the concept of coincidence. The tunneling of an electron from one site to the next occurs when the energy state of the second site coincides with that of the first one. Such a coincidence is insured by the thermal deformations of the lattice. By comparing the lifetime of such a coincidence and the electron transit time, one can identify two classes of hopping processes. If the coincidence lime is much laigcr than the transit lime, the jump is adiabatic the electron has lime to follow the lattice deformations. In the reverse case, the jump is non-adia-batic. 

Callejon and Ortiin37 discuss the social utility of pharmaceuticals, an allocation criterion introduced by the Law on Pharmaceuticals for public financing or insurance. They defend an extended concept of welfare whereby the variable to be maximized is health, which depends on health services and other factors. Once perspective is gained on the problem, the view is narrowed by framing it in mathematical meastires of performance. The second section of Table 2.3 lists some questions that can be asked. It is important to define the required accuracy and precision of the analysis and insure that everyone appreciates the distinction between these two concepts. Also, if accuracj is going to be evaluated, there must be agreement on a standard of comparison (a rel-erence method). 

The approach is nothing other than the analogue of the more general concept of defined contribution now widely recommended by many economists for the purchase of health insurance (Pauly et al. 1991). Under that approach, government or employers make a defined contribution to an individual s purchase of private health insurance, leaving the individual to pay the full difference between that contribution and the insurance premium actually charged by the private insurer.

Special operating procedures, personnel safety equipment, and training completed these design concepts. An extensive ambient-air monitoring network was established to insure that ambient-air standards were met to protect the environment. 

Customers are certainly buying some degree of insurance when they purchase water treatment programs, and there is nothing wrong with this concept. We all need insurance, of some sort or another, during our lives. 

The difference between compensation and reimbursement is one of the first concepts that require further explanation. One of the goals of value-added services is to receive compensation for services. This means that the patient, insurance company, or some other entity has paid for the direct cost of the service plus the perceived value of that service. Reimbursement, on the other hand, is payment for only the direct cost of the service without any payment above that (Hogue, 2002). In order to have a profitable service, compensation should be targeted instead of reimbursement. If only reimbursement is targeted, then only the direct costs of providing the service, such as payment for supplies, is recovered, and the net revenue may be minimal. 

Why then would analytical chemistry be reluctant towards metrology in general and the traceability concepts in particular According to its internal logic, this cannot be the case, because analytical chemistry has clearly demonstrated its readiness to adopt any ideas, methods or concepts that it can import. The concepts put forward in the traceability discussion are potentially valuable ones and could help in insuring analytical chemistry to keep track of its quantitative and accurate character as well as the comparability of its data.

Safety considerations become a consideration at the initiation of a concept and is a constant partner until the missile is phased out of the inventory. It is only by such constant attention that operations with such materials and devices can be performed without incurring disaster. 

It is apparent that the free volume concept leads to a relation identical to the Vogel equation. This does not insure, of course, that the parameters B an so defined need have any fundamental significance, but it does provide at least a plausible insight into the nature of the rj T) dependence.
