Isolier-anstrich, m. insulating paint, varnish, or coat. -band. n. insulating tape, itolierbar, a. capable of being isolated or insulated. 

Reference and auxiliary electrodes are coupled in a micropipette tip. The reference electrode consists of an anodised silver wire introduced in a tip through a syringe rubber piston. The tip is filled with saturated KC1 solution and contains a low-resistance liquid junction. The platinum wire that acts as auxiliary electrode is fixed with insulating tape. For measurement recording the tip is fixed on an electrochemical cell Metrohm support allowing horizontal and vertical movement (see Fig. 36.1 of Procedure 36 in CD accompanying this book). 

Fix a 5-cm-long platinum wire (0.3 mm diameter) with insulating tape externally to the tip for the auxiliary electrode.

Place in a humid incubator at 37°C with an atmosphere of 10% C02, 5% 02 and air. If a low oxygen incubator is not available, gas cylinders containing the C02/02 mixture may be rented. In this case a perforated sheet of perspex can be laid on top of four silicone bungs ( 3 cm long) and sterile water added to the box. Place the dishes on top of the tray and replace the lid, which should have a hole drilled in it. Seal the lid to the box with insulation tape and gas the box through the hole in the lid for 10 min. Seal the hole in the lid with tape and place the box at 37°C. 

Complete the assembly of the electroplating cell by attaching the platinum anode with plastic insulation tape. Position the platinum wire anode about 0.5 cm from the stainless steel disc (cathode).

Use Antioxidant in tire carcasses, tubes, insulating tape, black soles. 

Use Cements, adhesives, electrical insulating tapes and cable wrapping. 

These form a small group which have limited uses for specialized purposes. Asbestos fibre can be spun and made into fireproof fabrics or protective clothing. Fibrous glass is made in substantial and increasing quantities and it is used for insulation tape, industrial filter cloths, and for many other purposes when bonded with polystyrene or other plastic substances.
