These micro-structured pellets are designed to provide particular characteristics Tadmor and Gogos [1] called them designer pellets. These designer pellets are processed in extruders or in injection molding machines to form products with the possibility of further structuring or de-structuring [2]. 

Advances in simulation technology have led to several attempts to link the results of simulation to the injection-molding machine. One of the difficulties in doing this is that injection-molding machines have characteristics that are not easily accounted for in simulation. For example, the ability of the machine to respond to a desired change in process conditions is not known nor is the performance of the flow check valve. Nevertheless, simulation can be used to get somewhere near an optimum set of process conditions. The setup can then be fine-tuned to optimum performance. 

Metal soaps are found as lubricant in numerous applications. It prevents excessive friction during processing so that high output together with protection from overheating of plastic materials is possible. Metal soaps provide excellent flow characteristics. They help plastics to be stressed dynamically in an extrusion or injection molding machine. The metal soaps have very little or no effect on the end products. 

This approach phase usually also lasts several weeks, accompanied by further testing on the injection molding machine. In the end, there is a customer-released product, which can be used within the defined characteristics of the production.
