Site management organizations provide physician investigators, qualified patients, and support personnel for inpatient and outpatient clinical trials for single site or multicenter clinical trials. These firms provide services to sponsors and CROs. They are included in the CRO industry revenue totals, and unlike CROs they incorporate per pahent grant funds in their revenues.

REOCNTEK has completed the licensing process for its first full scale facility in Newman, Illinois. With the assistance of its corporate parent PS Group, REOCNTEK has sold 15 million in industrial revenue bonds and will begin construction cn or about July 1, 1989. We expect this facility to begin operation during the first quarter of 1990.

The transistors are produced on the surlace of silicon wafers through photoetching and chemical-vapor-deposition methodologies. Photoetching requires the use of specially designed masks to provide the shape and dimensions of the transistors component structures. As transistor dimensions have decreased from 35 um to 65 nm, the cost of the masks has risen exponentially, from about 100,000 to more than 3 million. At the same time, however, semiconductor industry revenues have increased from about 20 milhon in 1955 to more than 200 billion in the early twenty-first century, and they continue to increase at a rate of about 6 percent per year. This is mirrored hy the amount of investment in research and development. In 2006, for example, such investment amounted to some 19.9 bUhon.
