Inclusive learning environment

This book presents different faces of inclusive learning environments that share in common the integration of teaching approaches to the learning of a diverse student population. The people in an inclusive learning environment have the capacity to reflect on process, both individually and collectively. It is thus important for inclusive leadership development facilitators to create an environment in which everyone is encouraged, but not forced, to actively participate. When working with groups, facilitators should stress the importance of having openness and mutual respect for one another, as this encourages full participation from all, which is valuable to the organization.

This book is a synthesis of work by many passionate faculty members who possess similar goals of creating an inclusive classroom environment for their students. We hope that novice and experienced faculty will find valuable ideas in this book and be able to adapt these or to develop their own strategies to enhance the learning experience of all their students. We welcome your comments and suggestions for improving this book. 

In summary, the key elements of the Process Model for Inclusive Leadership Development are a variety of learning experiences focused on inclusive relational-based leadership practices, undergone by committed leaders and collectives in a safe learning and working environment, and that include elements of assessment, challenge, and support, in an inclusive organizational context and a climate of respect, equality, and fairness. 

In summary, an environment that nurtures learning is evolving within the Supply Chain and Operations Area due to changes in leadership that has become more inclusive, in organizational culture that is supportive of innovation and in organizational structures that facilitate open communication and teamwork. Individual and group learning has been enabled by the presence of a clear focus to reduce costs, positive reinforcement and staff development opportunities. 

This recognition and acceptance of children s worth was also demonstrated by the determination of staff to provide a safe, calm and caring environment to ensure that learning did take place and hence the emphasis on behaviour in the school. Indeed, it was children whose behaviour was particularly challenging who seemed the most demanding for staff to accept in terms of inclusion. Even...
