Impact stability

Bubble formation in champagne is another important area of application. The size of the bubbles is found to be important for taste to make an impact. Stability has also much impact on the looks and taste. The taste of impact is related to the size and number of bubbles, and also how long the bubbles are stable. 

Advantages Test can be set up rapidly. Used for emulsions that become destabilized within 1-4 weeks valuable for determining how pH, ionic strength, or protein concentration impact stability. Disadvantages Lengthy analysis times are needed. Storage conditions must be controlled. 

Crystalline polymorphism studies (i.e., relationship of TNT crystalline form to impact stability, etc.). 

Pure aromatic structure of given polymers brings them high thermooxidation stability and deformation resistance. Reversion of amorphous systems to crystalline state occurs primarily as a function of temperature, water content, and storage time. Moisture can adversely impact stability of amorphous materials by lowering glass transition... 

All these considerations pertain to the strong collision mechanism of impact stabilization. If stabilization is of the stepladder type, this should be taken into account for proper use of other kinetic equations. The stepladder stabilization has been studied most thoroughly for the recombination of atoms.
