Design change

Ceramics can be ground, cut, drilled, etc. There is a risk of cracks, but this can be minimised by using the right machining techniques. Customised products can be made quiekly, design changes are fast. 

Antiicing Additives. Additives to control icing are rarely used in the United States because vehicle design changes have made icing problems almost nonexistent. 

Software packages are commercially available for simulation of hydrauhc transients. These may be used to analyze piping systems to reveal unsatisfactoi y behavior, and they aUow the assessment of design changes such as increases in pipe-wall thickness, changes in valve actuation, and addition of check valves, surge tanks, and pulsation dampeners.
